ANSWER : An angry man, who used racial and ethnic slurs. Within ten minutes of meeting me he used the N word and another slur against Asians. He also spoke derisively of homosexuals the next time I saw him. He didn't know me AT ALL, but went ahead anyway.

Somewhat stupid, like his hero Dubya. 27

I'm sure John Kerry never used any slurs when referring to the Vietnamese. He was sensitive to our enemy.
by lowerclassbrats on Thu Aug 26, 04 9:10am [+]

What does this racist have to do with Kerry Lowclass? The point is this...He is a filthy, disgusting, racist, lowclass bum...Whether Kerry used racial epithets or not isn't really the point regarding this ballot. However, Mojo confirmed that a member of the SH*tty Boat did so in her presence...Excellent ballot Mojo, thanks for sharing :)

Point is your Idol probably used some of the same racist terms. Veterans of the Vietnam War went through hell on earth, so it is understandable they might not be as socially conscious as you or I. It's possible he's a racist or just a bitter man but that doesn't make him a liar.

I say lie detector tests for the lot of em.

I'm guessing angry, crude, unable or unwilling to deal with conflict/compromise except by striking out ... and someone who has no tolerance with anyone who doesn't completely agree with his views.

Just a guess.
by Cathexis on Thu Aug 26, 04 9:58am [+]

LCB: I have no Idols. I'm well aware of what veterans of ALL wars go through. What was surprising to me was this person's assumption that I was a racist bigot within 5 minutes of meeting him.
by mojo on Thu Aug 26, 04 9:59am [+]

lcb: It doesn't make him a lair, but it does provide indications about his character.

You remember character, right? That thing that was so important during the Clinton years but that we dispensed with as a criteria in 2000?
by Cathexis on Thu Aug 26, 04 10:00am [+]

a liar, either. :-/

I am typing-challenged.

Mojo: War can make you socially retarded, is part of what I was trying to convey. He proves my point by assuming you would not be bothered by his comments.

Arguing gives me the trots gotta go.
by lowerclassbrats on Thu Aug 26, 04 10:08am [+]

My dad was in a war and had terrible experiences. He's not socially retarded (please, that's simplistic and rather insulting). Neither are most of the people I have come across in my life as a "military brat".
by mojo on Thu Aug 26, 04 10:18am [+]

The operative word is "can".
by lowerclassbrats on Thu Aug 26, 04 10:35am [+]

LCB: You're right, anyone *can* be an asshole, based either on nature or nurture. What's interesting is that this guy, who is criticising another man's record, is one himself. I really tried to like this man because of what he'd gone through and because it was a social situation at my parents' house. But he seemed determined to shock by using such hateful language. I did try to draw him out on a subsequent meeting, but I couldn't discover anything likeable about him.
by mojo on Thu Aug 26, 04 10:44am [+]

He sounds like an asshole, you did more than most would by giving him a second chance.
by lowerclassbrats on Thu Aug 26, 04 11:10am [+]

He also sounds very insecure.

He's just a lying little weasel and a coward as well as stupid, just like dumbya, LOL

And, Swift Boat Vets are Naval personnel NOT Air Force or Army! STOP TALKING OUT OF YOUR ASSHOLE!

He's a two faced lying Replublican hypocrite.
by Grapost on Sat Aug 28, 04 7:55pm [+]

Jabba, I don't know who you are responding to with your West Point comment, but you are right. The Air Force Academy is in Colorado. However, long ago, West Point used to train the Army Air Corps before there was an official Air Force in the U.S.

Oops -- I guessed "Somewhat stupid..."

My grandfather was a member of the International Brigade that fought the fascists in Spain and the Nazis in WWII, I have seen some nasty things in my tour as a soldier, however, both myself and my grandfather felt we were fighting for a cause that meant something. we didn not come out of it with any anger, but in the sure fact that he had defeated an enemy of the working classes.

His character was not changed, but he was hardened by the carnage of war.

I dont think service in the armed forces, changes a reasonable man into a racist bigot, he wouldbe that way before the fact.
