Recently a Super Wal-Mart was vandalized by people against building such a large struture a in the fragile eco-system of my cities forests. They jumped in dump trucks and drove them through the walls that were recently erected. I donÂ’t like Wal-Mart and not just because the massive structure is being built in such a vulnerable area. There are many small businesses around here that are going to go under because of the low quality, cheap, imported merchandise they will sell. I just moved to this area and in the previous town I could only rely on Wal-Mart to buy products for exactly the reason I just brought up. I donÂ’t mind spending more money in this city for the goods I get, the smaller places pay their employees more and thus they can afford to buy the higher quality merchandise their employers sell. I donÂ’t think that this cooperation will do anything positive for this city. In my hometown they ran all the smaller companies out of business and then hired their employees at a decreased pay and now they can only afford to shop at Wal-Mart. ItÂ’s a win-win for the corporations and a lose-lose for us and there is nothing we can do to stop it accept not shop there, but there are enough red necks and social degenerates in this city to make sure that despite any protest by the community Wal-Mart wonÂ’t lose profits. Even if they did they could afford it till the protests faded. I have digressed. Wal-Mart is destroying the environment here and some radicals have decided to exercises civil disobedience and destroy the cooperation that seeks to destroy the environment. Who is the real ecological terrorist, the corporation that seeks to destroy the forest for profit or the radicals that destroyed the corporation to protect the environment?

Wal-Mart 62
The Radicals 5

Wal-Mart remind me of the Borg from Star Trek.

Wow, this is so typical: anyone who shops at walmart is a "red neck and social degenerate." and yet you admit the main reason people go to walmart: it's cheaper! not everyone can afford overpriced boutiques. so it is giving a better product cheaper, which certainly helps people, but doesn't fit into your quaint small-city ideal. "I don’t mind spending more money in this city for the goods I get, the smaller places pay their employees more and thus they can afford to buy the higher quality merchandise their employers sell," you said, and yet not everyone has this option. wow, you are such a stuck up liberal its not even funny.

There is a difference between protests and sabotage. Sabatage that does and will claim people lives. They ran a truck through a wall without one concern that someone could have been working in there? sounds like an eco-terrorist to me.

Matt 22.

Where did your quote about Wal-Mart shoppers being red necks and degenerates come from? It certainly did not come from Robin Gaylord's intro. Nice attempt at a smear, Matt.

^Um cretin_slap, if you actually read it through he did say "red necks and social degenerates" I suggest you read the whole thing before criticizing quotes.
