COMMENTS:
In the final analysis, I assert it is unpatriotic NOT to oppose Bush *and* the war in Iraq.
Cathexis said it right.
Yes, you should always have blind faith in your elected leaders

Yes it is...
And the reason would be ...?
The reason is simply because he is the Commander in Chief, the decision was made to go to war, you may not agree with it, but the decision needs to be supported.
It's un-patriotic to tell people what they should think

No, not at all. But that doesn't mean you should go off and misunderestimate the president like the terrorist are right now. Misunderestimation will just cause panic in the *wise* mind of Dubya. I hope this helps. Sarcasm/ on
Yet another moment of Bush Zen Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we..* --George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., Aug. 5, 2004
it's unpatriotic for a citizen of the richest strongest country in the world to doubt their leaders? Are we really hurting their cause? No, we can't touch them. Just keep waving your flag, listen to everything they say, lick their heels and worship them like God if it makes you feel so good, no one's stopping you.

All Bush wanted this war for was to finish what his father couldn't.
"Dissent is the heart of patriotism."- T Jefferson elvislennon, PLEASE tell me he wasn't REALLY dumb enough to say THAT.
Bafkoof on Sept 27 said it's unpatriotic to oppose Bush and his war because "he is the Commander-in-Chief, the decision was made to go to was, you may not agree with it, but the decision needs to be supported". Nice sentiment there, Bafkoof, but it probably loses something in translation from the original German.
Truthseeker, sorry but it's true. Just go to google and type *bushisms* I like the site that's third from the top (politcal humor). This particular quote even has a video link. David Letterman even played it on his show.
Nice poetic use of the double negative Cathexis!
Most definitely not. It's your DUTY to support what YOU believe in, not what the gov't believes in. That's the whole reason for having democracy.
"The reason is simply because he is the Commander in Chief, the decision was made to go to war, you may not agree with it, but the decision needs to be supported. " That's just plain stupid. Supporting YOUR beliefs is the whole reason for having a democracy. If you're going to just support whatever the gov't does without forming your own opinion, you might as well move to China.
