If you were walking fast enough it would only feel like a couple of seconds to you.

Est. I wouldn't get very far, but if I managed to leave the Earth's atmosphere would my inhaler work? Is there a Taco Bell on the way? Am I gonna get sunburnt?

Even if there was a sidewalk all the way there it would probably be never. Human spacecraft, travelling at just under 17km/sec, a speed that makes a bullet look like a dead snail, wouldn't come remotely close to another star for about 80,000 years. Stars are so unbelieveably far away; the light you see coming from them is so small and tiny that air movement in our atmosphere makes them appear to twinkle.
