That's a very easy algebraic problem. It's basically just:

x = 1 + x/2

Couldn't be much easier.

B: Yup. Changing the words to math can be challenging (unless you're keithsheen), but one brick is made of two halves; therefore, if one of the constituent weights is *half a brick* the other measure must, by definition, constutue the other half.

Hence, a half brick is one pound, making the brick 2 pounds.
