does not bother me at all, these auto companies have factories in usa that create jobs. I think you just wanted to point out that us auto makers are not as big as they used to be, I think most of us know that.
I mean we know that america's auto industry is not as big as it used to be.
No I am not mike, and something you should know is that forien car companies assemble cars not build them from the ground up and the profits go to Japan. They do not create jobs they just substitute them.

No. US auto makers have become arrogant in their belief that they 'know' what the public wants. Also, their laser-like focus on cost-cutting erodes quality, over time. They reap what they sow.
It bothers me when I see people drinking starbucks coffee.
I cringe when I see these vehicles covered with the U.S. flag stickers and red, white and blue ribbons. What a way to support your country. Even though most American cars are made of foreign components, I could not see myself buying anything other than a GM, Ford or Chrysler. That's all we had when I was growing up along with AMC who had the Gremlin and the Pacer.
Chrysler is now a German company

oic ABC.
I agree I will only buy an american car also, but does not bother me that other people buy foreign cars all I meant.
Yeah, I know about Chrysler. You kick somebody's ass in a war, help rebuild their country and they take all of your businesses. In 50 years, you'll all be driving hovercrafts made in the Middle East.
Foreign cars are better than American cars, and buying the best products available to you is part of what America is all about. That's why we have (somewhat) free trade, because we are allowed to have a lot of options. If American automakers would step it up a notch and find out why foreign cars are more reliable and more stylish, they might actually be competitive. Until then they shouldn't complain about Americans buying their cars elsewhere.

No way! We strive to have free markets and this is one of the results. I buy the best product regardless of where it is made. btw, The American companies seem to be doing better than they were in the 90's; they just passed European cars in reliability and are finally starting to come up with nice looking designs.
It's sad but true, Take a close look at the build sheet on ANY vehicle supposedly Made in USA and you will find an alarming number of the components are made somewhere else.
frog that is what world trade agreements are alll about, I doubt if anything made in the so called free world is totally made in one country, the European union for example, engine for a plane made in france, wing in uk and another part someplace else. Not just happening in usa.
what a bunch of fucking idiots!
No, not at all. A fair number of those automobile making companies are in the United States. It does create jobs for other Americans, it's good for the enviroment, and it can keep those gas prices low. I'm not against it or the people who drive them, I honestly can't blame them, a high quality American car these days cost a bundle of money.
Good ballot ABC, I think that even if your Canadian you should buy American vehicles, buying American also helps Canada. Somebody said that foreign vehicles have always been more reliable and stylish, well I can kinda see the reliable part eventhough foreign vehicles from various companies rust to hell and break down quite a bit but the stylish part I say is way off unless your talking about Jaguar, BMW, Lamborghini or any other stylish vehicles like that, but Hondas, Toyotas, Nissans etc. have never been stylish, they are POS! I just cant see how Americans can just sit back and watch the American auto industry go to hell. Those who live in America and buy foreign vehicles are a disgrace to their country! Next time you put a sticker on your foreign vehicle, make sure its not an American flag sticker supporting your country and instead make sure its a sticker of the flag in which your foreign vehicle was manufactured.

Well ABC, it's not our fault that Americans make CRAP cars. Ever driven a Chevrolet/GMC car? Ford? Chrysler? Absolute GARBAGE. The Germans and the Japanese have the best cars. They're well built and last long. So let your racism eat you alive, from the inside out, and drive that busted and torn crappy-ass Tauras of yours, as I enjoy my very safe and very luxurious Lexus LS430. Hehe...
Your poor thing. Maybe we should all take up a donation to get you into an overpriced Toyota LX 470.
The_Exorcist: ?
The fit and finish of American cars used to be abysmal so consumers turned to better made cars from other countries. Isn't that what a free market is about?
Lets face it as long as they do less damage to the atmosphere it doesnt matter where they come from!
** karma **
you talking to yourself again exorcist!! and no that wasnt a question
Nope, it doesn't bother me; I'm one of them. In buying a better vehicle, I support the US by telling it to keep up! How are they gonna stay ahead of the competition by building sh*t vehicles? We're only hurting ourselves with that kind of mentality.
I its some car you can tell is used, I don't care, but when I see some rich fuck driving some ugly ass acura, BMW or Mercades, I get pissed. Buy a fucking caddie or one of them new dodges with the fuckin Hemi engine. They rock are far cooler that those foreign cars. I will admit, they are good quality, but I don't think we should be giving these foreign companies money when we can keep it in good old american companies, weather these foreign companies have factories here or not.
