COMMENTS:
We already DO legislate morality. It's illegal to murder someone; it's legal to execute someone. It's illegal to steal. It's illegal to use gender/race/sexual orientation/or other personal characteristics to discriminate against people. Sodomy was illegal in a few states until 2003. The current Patriot Act allows federal agents to search your home without informing you. Etc... Etc...
"Faith-based initiatives"; the criminilization of using embryonic stem cells for research; parental consent for an abortion is required for minors
I meant to ask, "Can SEXUAL morality actually be legislated?" Chew on that one for a while.
Well, like I said, sodomy was illegal in a few states until the Supreme Court ruled it unconstitutional . It's illegal for minors to have sex. If someone over the age of 18 has sex with a minor, that is legally considered rape. Minors cannot buy pornography.
If people actually made sense, sexual morality wouldn't need to be regulated because there would be no sex. Sex expends energy (but not enough to qualify as effective exercsie), requires people to spend time with each other physically, and spreads disease.
