Wow !
I find it interesting. If a question never gets asked, there will never be an answer.

The point of philosophy is to start with something so simple as not to seem worth stating, and to end with something so paradoxical that no one will believe it. Bertrand Russell
Sorry, I must take a quote from my user page.. "All are lunatics, but he who can analyze his delusion is called a philosopher." - Ambrose Bierce (1842-1914) Hence as long as there are lunatics, there will be philosophers, and as long as there is looniness, there will always be questions, and as long as there are queastions, there will *always* be answers. Just because our mind capacity cannot evaluate the answer itself, that does not mean there is no point in trying to find an answer. Forgive me if I sound like an idiot, these are just words from my underexposed mind. (which thinks it knows all) Kids these days, huh?
unfortunatly this generation never developes enough brain cell to comprehend human nature
We've GOT to keep paying attention to the human thought process, if for no other reason than to figure out why people with working brains insist on voting Republican...
I think it's more popular now than ever with people starting to question Christianity more.
For decades, at least in the US, there has been a persistent push to force schools to focus on marketable studies: Math, Science, etc. Anything which didn't contribute directly and tangibly to job performance was deemed a Soft Study and, thus, worthless.
Consequently, we are left with generations who, for the most part, are unable to think beyond their jobs.
Math and Science *are* important. But so are those Soft Studies. And Art and Music and ...
...The Seventh Art! At least people still respond on movie ballots. *sniff*
Socrates and Confucius seemed pretty cool. I think it was all downhill from them on.
why, who, & what?),
So-crates . . . the only true wisdom consists in knowing that you know nothing
I think we need to define our terms and decide what you mean by 'dead' before we can even start to look at this problem. I am already stuck on 'is'
The owl of Minervaa takes flight only after the darkness has fallen --Hegel Hegel's point: The great Greek philosophers (the owl of Minerva) came when the empire was in decline (the darkness has fallen). Bush will surely hasten the decline of the USA and ironically bring about a rebirth of philosophy.
If we all had fulfilling lives then we would be glad not to be intersted in philosophy. Life is for living, but when you have an insane global elite causing wars and making our lives one long procession of materialism and division then I suppose people might beecome more interested in what the actual point of life is.
