COMMENTS:
"IT'S A DAY I WILL NEVER FORGET" vs "I CAN'T REMEMBER WHICH ONE"... the whole world remembers which one!!! Bush drug the Fireman to center stage, wrapped his left arm around him, grabbed a megaphone, started campaigning... looked into the fireman's face, whom gave a heartfelt request "Do not let me down"... was this just a Kodak moment? Isn't not remebering Fireman Bob Beck, a let down in it's self? Doesn't everyone else remember? You must... Bush even made that scene the center of many of his campaign commercials broadcast on national and world television! Isn't Bush's sincerity transparent? If you're like Bush and don't remember I've put the pic on my user page.

Of course

Yes I do.

There were other presidents I didn't particularly like - e.g. Ronald Reagan and George Bush Senior - who managed to convey a sense of emotion in tragic situations. At funerals they were statesmanlike, and it was obvious how deeply they connected with victims' families. I can't remember even seeing George W. at a funeral - except when it was a good PR opportunity (as in Reagan's). When he spoke in the first debate about how "hard" it is to send men to battle, he didn't sound or look convincing. His administration has consistently discouraged the media from covering dead and injured heroes returning from Iraq.

To me, he seems like a Hollow Man. Perhaps it is because he has never faced any real adversity in his life. That may account for many of his stubborn beliefs that seem to fly in the face of kindness or even common sense.

Good ballot.

Most people question everything about him.
by Gnomehunter1 on Mon Oct 18, 04 2:48pm [+]

I honestly dont know, I didnt see the speech, I cant imagine how anyone who was standing right there could not be sincere, but with GWB it wouldnt surprize me.
by ABC on Mon Oct 18, 04 3:13pm [+]

Fuck you larryelvira. You say "he is human", yet he stood on a pile of ruble entombing thousands and made the claim "A day I will never forget"... yet he did... and to go as far as slapping that very scene into campaign commercials and saying "I'm George Bush and I approve this message" and he still didn't notice, is insincerity to it's peak and his core! This speech is a direct quote and the transcript is at...

"you guys go to far sometimes with your bush bashing." - larrynelmira

How is QUOTING Bush "going too far" LOL. WTF
by Duckhead on Mon Oct 18, 04 4:01pm [+]

We're in Through the Looking-Glass country, people. I find the deep division in this country demoralizing. I'm a reasonable person, I always try to see both sides of an issue...but I I "go too far" by voicing my opposition to a regime I do not agree with or approve of??
by mojo on Mon Oct 18, 04 4:18pm [+]

Sorry about the typos. I take full responsibility for them, and regret them deeply.
by mojo on Mon Oct 18, 04 4:19pm [+]

Bush has a few more weeks in office to find Osama Bin Laden.
by xxxxxxxx on Mon Oct 18, 04 4:33pm [+]

you didnt answer Larry, how is Quoting Bush going too far? I seriosuly dont understand.
by Duckhead on Mon Oct 18, 04 5:09pm [+]

dont apologize, the man you seem to want to protect would never do that.
by Duckhead on Mon Oct 18, 04 5:11pm [+]

why wouldnt we question his sincerity? I would question ANYBODY in the position he is in, he is thee most powerful man in the world and he can influence your everyday life and everyone of our soldiers lives. Every person who is in the powerful of a position should be questioned. I agree that maybe he is judged more hashly but that (I believe) was brought upon himself.
by Duckhead on Mon Oct 18, 04 5:13pm [+]

a kid would not have said "im just a kid" I dont believe you are the age you claim to be gimmie your social security number and I will check.
by Duckhead on Mon Oct 18, 04 5:47pm [+]

he's a politician! How sincere can he be? On top of that he is a Business Man, ethics and business dont go hand in hand very well.
by Duckhead on Mon Oct 18, 04 6:01pm [+]

I have no problems saying things about Kerry, he is actually great comedic material but this Ballot was on Bush. You wanna talk smack on Kerry, start a ballot, dont be a wuss and be worried about your Karma, who cares, you dont get prizes for being a God, Lord, Knight or anything.

divided
by larrynelmira on Mon Oct 18, 04 6:28pm [+]

Of course, how can he not remember?

But Larry, it would be okay to question his sincerity and still believe he is the most eligible candidate.
by magdalenasdollar on Mon Oct 18, 04 6:48pm [+]

Even GOD doesnt forbid questioning authority Lamelmira.Check the fruit of that mans Labors fool. His deeds proves he is a crock & its over for him.Now you need to deal with it & get over yourself.

by Qui_Qui on Mon Oct 18, 04 8:20pm [+]

I can't see how any thinking person could not doubt his sincerity.
by Donny_Honey_Cakes on Mon Oct 18, 04 8:31pm [+]

I agree, if you are a thinking person, I certainly can not understand how one would not question his sincerity...He is the true definition of liar...
by Barbara_Baby_Cakes on Mon Oct 18, 04 9:37pm [+]

Larrynelmira, apologies for the "F*ck You"... it wasn't intended because of your personal opinion, but interjected in defense of your pot shot at Mojo... and I wasn't aware of "I'm just a little kid". I added the web address so anyone, who wanted, could fact check it if they liked, not just to appease you... and I have never, nor will I ever, give bad Karma to someone for their personal, political or religious beliefs... unless they're an ass.
My point is...
Bush and his cronies have been trying to immortalize that moment with the Fireman at ground zero, like it was the flag raising of Iwo Jima... It's the snapshot that was transcended upon the American people, by Bush, as his dedication, and promise to all of us, not only to fight terrorism, but for us to entrust unto him our safety and quality of life... with a civil servant, a hero, an all American icon, in tow... yet, he couldn't remember who stood there with him that day in front of the world!
Now young man, that's what they call, in Poker, a "Tell"... a very realistic and disheartening "Tell"!
by MO_ on Mon Oct 18, 04 10:00pm [+]

I didn't suggest conspiracy, but questioned his sincerity.
by MO_ on Mon Oct 18, 04 10:28pm [+]

that is your right mo, I'll respect that. Just wish I would get the same for my right to have an opinion, rather you agree or not.
by larrynelmira on Mon Oct 18, 04 10:50pm [+]

Someone please the box of Kleenex to Larry, he used my last box...Sheesh!
by Barbara_Baby_Cakes on Mon Oct 18, 04 10:58pm [+]

Correction: *Would someone please pass the box...*
by Barbara_Baby_Cakes on Mon Oct 18, 04 10:59pm [+]

Oh Bush is completely sincere! And I'm lactose-intolerant.

(Maybe this comment would work better if everyone saw the big cup of chocolate milk I just drank.)

by danny_mack on Tue Oct 19, 04 12:42am [+]

Sincerity?

I question his existence.

He gives me the creeps.
by SCREAMING_FROG on Tue Oct 19, 04 12:45am [+]

Larry, Larry, Larry... you should go hang in the "Humor" or "Pop Culture Ballots"... better yet, go play with Jenny17. Rumor has it, if you whisper "Georgy Porgy" softly in her ear 3 times, it's more effective than rohypnol (roofies)... "Use a Condom"!
by MO_ on Tue Oct 19, 04 4:04pm [+]

on this ballot Larry, his sincerity was the issue, if you dont like the topic you dont have to be a part of the discussion.
by Duckhead on Wed Oct 20, 04 7:02pm [+]

How can this show insincerity? He was correcting himself as to not make the mistake of calling him a fireman if he was actually a policeman. Ofcourse he remembers the guy and the day of Sept. 11th, but how is one to know if that guy was a police or fireman? The man is human, sheesh.

And for the person who said George W. Bush never has gone through a tough situation before.. his sister died of leukemia when he was very young. George Bush, his father, said that his eldest son George W. took it the hardest and was depressred for days and days on end.

larry, you bring up excellent points throughout this whole ballot too.
