culture : IS IT BETTER TO HAVE CHILDREN OR PETS?

We have two german shepherds, and a friend told us that our dogs are the functional equivalent of children. Maybe, they are spoiled, they are competitive with each other, and they think they own the place. However, unlike children, they will never become drug addicts and steal from us to support their habits. Of course, the dogs also will never win the lottery, marry into money or find any other way to get a lot of money, so we'll never be able to shame them into giving us big bucks. Which is better to have, children or pets?

People need to breed to prove their worth to each other. It's pathetic and stupid and now we can't stop it and there are ugly stupid people pushing out stinking polluting little blobs of flesh everywhere, terrible worthless trolls breathing MY and my cats' precious air.

While I like children, I'm not crazy about them. I'd rather have a pet (dog or cat) than a kid--they're easier to keep up with! But seriously, I love pets because they don't judge you, put you down, make you feel rotten about yourself and the world, they don't care how you look, how you talk, what you say, do or think. Unconditional love does not really exist among people--only pet animals can love you and care for you UNCONDITIONALLY.
