REPUBLICANS VOTING FOR BUSH, ARE YOU AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING ABOUT GEORGE W. BUSH?

[+] serious ballot by mojo
created Wed Oct 27, 04
~ He is a draft-dodger who failed to report for a physical during his time with the National Guard, and was invisible during most of his time with the Guard.
~ Unlike *every* president before him, he has never published a single written work about anything in his 58 years.
~ His 'ranch' in Crawford is a high-tech, solar-powered mansion that has its own water-producing facility. However, he keeps this a secret, continues to support the oil cartels, and walked out of the Kyoto treaty that proposed studying alternative energy technology.
~ On the first day of his presidency, Bush had a staff meeting to discuss invading Iraq. His statement that "Saddam tried to kill my Daddy" has never been verified in any report.
~ Bush's obsession with Saddam Hussein caused him to deliberately avoid and ignore warnings about Al Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden, proven enemies of the United States who had already committed atrocities on our soil.
~ In autumn of 2003, he held a brief press conference during which he stated unequivocally that there was no link between Al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein - even though prior to and after that time (as recently as the debates), he linked the two.
~ In spite of his own reluctance to see action on the battlefield, he has sent thousands of Americans to fight in a war that, by his own admission, has nothing to do with the 9/11/01 attack on American soil.
~ His life before the age of 40 is largely undocumented, and has been dismissed by the man himself and his supporters as "irrelevent". About those 40 years, we do know by all accounts (including his own and members of his family), he did illegal drugs, had a drinking problem (he has at least one DUI on his record), and womanized to the point where his wife denied him their bed.

These are just a few facts about our president. He shows hypocracy and double standards on every issue I can think of. He is a muddled thinker who "doesn't do nuance" (in his own words).

Do you really want to vote for this man and put him in office for another four years?

Will not vote for Bush 6
Will vote for Bush regardless 4

This ballot is in response to ballot 56641. I do not expect to change the mind of any died-in-the-wool Bushite here; am merely presenting another side to the story.

(Yup, it was all Clinton's fault. Enjoy!)

Mike1952: Get a clue. You cannot, morally or logically, justify your guy's wrongdoing merely by pointing out the wrongdoing of someone else. That's called the "So's your old man!" line of reasoning and you're supposed to outgrow it in your childhood.

I'm not saying bush is right on everything, I'm responding to mojos claims, and if you would think about it and stop being so anti bush that you are blind to some facts, clinton was in office 8 years, during attacks by alqueda on us and it's embassies, and only six months after bush came into office 911 happened, if you think that would not have happened if clinton or gore were president you are mistaken, because as I said , clinton and gore had 8 years of attacks on america. you get a clue, bush has made mistakes I'll agree, the ecomomy made have been good during clintons admin. and wouldn't you know, selfish americans, that all you care about, ignoring first wtc and the embassy attacks. You can blame a lot of things on bush, but clinton had a chance to receive bin laden but he turned it down, not thinking he was a threat. spin that all you want, and you are the one's who can't take any crit. about any democrat. dont be so hypocritcal

Great job mojo. What really impressed me is that you didn't use the word(s)chimp, moron, idiot, stupid or lying sob. And you still got the point across beautifully.
by elvislennon on Wed Oct 27, 04 1:43pm [+]

How is that Bush is better than Kerry, did you not read Mojo presentation of Bush record? This man is a nitwit for crying out loud. Althought, you have to the right to vote for whomever thc. However, please do not distort the records between the two candidates...Bush has proven time and again not only he is inept to lead this country to a dog fight, the depths in which his ineptness reaches is incredible to say the least. I am not going to tell you that Kerry is the BEST man for the job. However, we already see what you get with Bush (lies, death, high unemployment, laughed at and loss of respect by many in the international community and frankly, divison between the American people across racial, socio-economics, political, religious, and gender lines). Bush is a lunatic and dangerous, and the loss of those explosives proves that we all are now at greater risk of experiencing a catastrophic event that could have been avoided. Sure, don't vote for Kerry, vote for Bush, talk about exercising ones right to die...

I dont see Kerry in any hurry to repress or even jail those who disagree with him.
by Qui_Qui on Wed Oct 27, 04 2:52pm [+]

Thank you, BBC. I'm not a Kerry fan per se, but I'll take a man who's more likely to LISTEN to the advice given him, as opposed to Mister Bush and his tendency to go his own road, flying in the face of any and all advice given him.
by Truthseeker013 on Wed Oct 27, 04 3:11pm [+]

I don't really believe the two are much different but Kerry would be worse for America. In order to pay for his programs he'll HAVE to raise taxes on the middle class or print more fiat money, which of course is equivalent to taxing everyone an equal proportion based on how much money they have. His ideas for healthcare amount to adding the government as a middleman which means we'll get the same service at a higher cost equal to what we pay now plus the cost of more bureaucracy. Don't even get me started on the idiocy of raising the minimum wage. And I don't believe two lawyers like the Johns are willing to crack down on the lawsuits that are driving prices up. Bush calls himself a conservative but he spends money like a liberal. He at least wants me to be able to handle my own retirement money and not let the inept retards in social security and congress squander it. I'll be voting early tomorrow (also my 21st birthday) and I'll be voting for Badnarik; he's the only candidate with a sound economic and monetary plan.
by thc2883 on Wed Oct 27, 04 3:45pm [+]

Yes I would vote for bush before kerry, even with the shit you wrote,I was going to name all the wrongs democrats have done, but won't because it's something a child would,I would rather have bush with past you mentioned than kerry who most of you no nothing about, and who witnessed those crimes in viet nam, lied to the senate, put pows in danger. you will never change our minds, so stop trying.

I would never presume to change the mind of a neo-con, let alone try to get him to "do nuance". This was simply an attempt to response to ballot #56641. Over & out.

" He is a draft-dodger who failed to report for a physical during his time with the National Guard, and was invisible during most of his time with the Guard "

Already been debunked by the release of all of his military records. Speaking of which, Kerry has yet to release all of his.

" Unlike *every* president before him, he has never published a single written work about anything in his 58 years. "

You must've had a brain fart while making this ballot. Since when does penning a book reflect upon your leadership skills?

" Bush's obsession with Saddam Hussein caused him to deliberately avoid and ignore warnings about Al Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden, proven enemies of the United States who had already committed atrocities on our soil. "

The 2000 election aftermath caused a belated White House transistion. Extension of mike1952's argument: Clinton had numerous opportunities to acquire bin Laden, but he was too busy boning interns to pay attention. Also, we did not take any troops away from Afghanistan to put them in Iraq; the two are concurrent wars.

" On the first day of his presidency, Bush had a staff meeting to discuss invading Iraq. His statement that "Saddam tried to kill my Daddy" has never been verified in any report. "

The STATEMENT has never been verified, or what? Source, please?

" In autumn of 2003, he held a brief press conference during which he stated unequivocally that there was no link between Al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein - even though prior to and after that time (as recently as the debates), he linked the two. "

They are linked, just not with regard to 9/11. Hussein authorized al Quaeda training in Baghdad, among other things. I've seen satellite photos of the training camp. Also, Iraq and Afghanistan/Taliban/al Quaeda fall under the umbrella of War on Terror.

" In spite of his own reluctance to see action on the battlefield, he has sent thousands of Americans to fight in a war that, by his own admission, has nothing to do with the 9/11/01 attack on American soil. "

" His life before the age of 40 is largely undocumented, and has been dismissed by the man himself and his supporters as "irrelevent". About those 40 years, we do know by all accounts (including his own and members of his family), he did illegal drugs, had a drinking problem (he has at least one DUI on his record), and womanized to the point where his wife denied him their bed. "

Don't know where you got the supposed sex denial. There are obviously major things known about his life back then, seeing as how you mention them here. What do we know about Kerry's life, other than the fact that he spent 4 months in Vietnam - wherein he committed atrocities - and then accused other military men of the same atrocities. We're not even allowed to dissect his Senate record because that's "playing dirty pool".

WalterPeck. I've done a great deal of reading about George Bush, and in my comments I did my very best to keep it toned down and not use abusive language. I don't know where you get _your_ info either, but I don't wish to insult you ("brain farts," etc.). Let's try to maintain mutual respect.

As I said before, I was providing a foil to the arguments presented in 56641. The sources of my comment about Saddam's assassination attempt are the Washington Post and The New Yorker magazine. Both quoted CIA sources.

Take care, and happy voting.
