LCB, don't let anyone tell you otherwise - you and I truly know what it's like to be a minority (conservatives in SFO & BOS). I could barely contain myself today, but I had no one at work to share my joy with me. The silence in the office was palpable.

Why do so many Conservative Republicans enjoy the infliction of pain? Not just towards fellow Americans, but to disenfranchised people all over the world?
I can only anwser for myself but in my geographic area I am the minority, I am the oppressed. I felt satisfaction to know I am not alone in my beliefs. You can understand that Zig it's not right or left it's human nature.
I'm the minority in my area as well -- I live near untra-conservative Omaha.

I suppose it is, but I can't relate, except to admit that if Kerry had won I'd have felt a huge weight lifted, a huge relief, not glee that Bush had lost. Can you relate to those who don't see you as an enemy, but perhaps see your choice and belief in Bush as a misguided one?
If so, there's hope.

I was going to say Yes, but realized that it will take a bigger man than me to refrain from smug satisfaction on seeing the responses when Bush's ineptitude blows up in his face, throughout his second term.
However, Bush is not a true Conservative, so I won't rub that in your faces. ;-)
I do regret the pain/harm it will cause the country, though.
I also felt joy when I say Kerry supporters crying on TV. I would've felt the same way to see the Bush supporters cry.

Of course not. Life wouldn't be worth living without schaudenfraude. I always thought that the best thing that the Clintons had going for them was their enemies. Any enemy of Jerry Falwell can't be all bad. If Hillary is ever elected president, I'll tune in the 700 Club and laugh while Jerry and Pat Robertson weep, wail, gnash their teeth, and rend their garments.
