Taoism isn't really a religion, but a philosophy. Same with Confuscionism. Atheism isn't really a religion; it's an affirmation of one's disbelief of all religion and spiritualality.
The Baha'i faith doesn't have any retarded, evil acts in their history, like a lot of popular religions. But maybe that's because they've never had any power. Oh well, their list of goals is pretty noble.

Jehovah's Witnesses also believe in one God only (for Guest_cec81), the only ones who don't go to war, swear, have sex before marriage, divorce (unless auldtery is commited), the only ones that are completely united in worship, the only ones that recognize that God's name is Jehovah and that it must be preached throughout the earth and the only ones that follow the complete bible in everything they do. They never comprimise God's standards for the world's or what's popular. Being a Jehovah's Witness is more than a religion, it's a way of life.

Jehovah's Witnesses haven't taken their religion 'to a bad place and use it to enslave or slaughter people and commit other atrocities'. And religion can be bad; if its leaders lower their standards to fit in more with the world and then say they follow God (or their gods) they become hypocrties and of course thier bad.

If you are firm practicer of your religion of course you believe that your religion is the true one. And it does not matter how long a religion has been going for. I am a Jehovah's Witness and according to the bible the first Jehovah's witness was Abel. At Hebrews 11:4-12:1 says: By faith Abel offered God a sacrifice of greater worth than Cain ... By faith Noah, after being given divine warning of things not yet beheld, showed godly fear ... So then, because we so great a cloud of WITNESSES surrounding us," (some bible translations differ, but it means the same thing in original Greek). But the point it is does not matter how old a religion is.
God made his name (Jehovah - Psalms 83:18) known to the jews because of their forefather Abraham who was the only one righteous after the flood. And if you believe the bible all people who have died and not known God's name or his will, will get ressurrected in order for them to be preached "the good news". Any who do not come to worship Jehovah will die.
Regarding dinosaurs, the six creative days were not literal days but, in the original Hebrew context, meant a period of time. Also, the great flood mens that radiometric dating methods (those measuring geologic time by rate of radioactive decay) supposedly prove these formations are millions of years old rather than thousands. But the main point is that the bible does allow the earth and the universe to be at least millions of years old.
Immoral actions, which are sins, are not God's creation. We make the choice to commit immoral acts, it is not God's fault.
And for your final question, the purpose of life is to serve God eternally on earth (Ps 37:9,11,29). As a Jehovah's Witness I believe that some will go to heaven (Revelation 14:1-3) to "rule as kings over the earth" with Jesus Christ. (Revelation 5:10) But, as was the orginal purpose back in the garden of Eden, to live for ever on the earth and cultivate it and serve God. God does want us to enjoy his creations for all eternity.

I'm Wiccan, but I dont thihnk it's neccessarily the "best" religon. It's what works for you personally that matters, no ne has all the answers. I hate it when people say "I believe this, and this is the only way to salvation! you are all wrong and will burn in hell! bwahahahahah" That's just stupid, when will peoeple see that not everyone sees as they do.

There is no one true religion. People are different, and different ideas work for different people. Because Judaism works for you, it doesn't mean it will work for me. Because Wicca works for me doesn't mean it will work for you. If only people recognised that different things work for different people...

Why must we nit pick over the tiny trivialities that seperate the many monotheistic beliefs when they all basically come down to one little point: don't kill people. It's a pretty simple rule, really. One we should all be able to abide by. And yet, all over the world, people are killing in the name of God. Think about it for a minute. Why would God tell one group of people to kill another group of people who believe in Him in a slightly different form?

Christianity is the only religion in which you have to suffer for your faith. Name ONE other religion that tells you to suffer for other people, be nice to other people, don't knock each other down, etc. For all women out there, Christianity is freedom from sin. It tells you that things like swearing(which I am hearing a lot of) doesn't matter. And I am right in asessing that Christianity is the most persecuted religion in the world. thousands of Christians die each DAY in China, so don't get me started on that. One last thing; Jesus KNEW he had to die, he was not forced. That is why he offered no resistance to the guards who took him. If some people had actually READ the bible, they would know this stuff.

Paganism/agnosticism suits me best, IF I have to pick something. Organized religion has been used for centuries to manipulate people. I am not atheist, because I do believe there is something much greater than us, but I just don't know what it is. So I keep an open mind and believe what feels right for me inside. Christianity was forced down my throat when I was growing up, and none of it made sense or felt right. So, everyone should just believe what feels right to them and not believe something just because somebody else tells you to or some book(s) tells you to. And don't persecute others who have different beliefs than yours.

Neutral_Observer, I apreciate your comments. But there is a small flaw. There is such a thing as a "radical Christian," but radical Christians don't force their religion down people's throats or say "my way or the highway" speeches. Radical Christians are simply enthusiastic. "radical muslims" kill in the name of Allah, which I don't think peaceful muslims like very much. Christ said in Revelation, "You may either be cold or hot, but the lukewarm I will spit out of my mouth." That figure of speech translates into: The deepest, most painful part of hell is reserved for people who are neither against Christ nor for him. Hell isn't a place with flames and demons; It's a place where you suffer your worst nightmare over and over again for all eternity. It seems that people have gotten a misguided version of hell in itself. I have no patience for muslims unless they act accordingly to what their religion teaches them. Christians out there, please listen to me. Try to set a good example for other people by not calling people names and such. It makes Christians look like hypocrites, and we aren't. Set a good example for other people. It's how the ministry works.

It is not right for christianity to say that their religion is the only true way. jesus wasnt a catholic, presbetierian ect. jesus listened to god and not to his ego and emotions.this is the true way. it is what most religions teach to a greater or lesser extent , however religion is still flawed. jesus was above religion and its politics that is what made hime so great and self less. i was born into the muslim religion but even though it teaches to submit to god it also contradicts itself as it is filled with dogmas that tend to towards rigidity and intolerence for other ways. that is why i prefer eastern philosophy or hinduism. there are many simplistic aspects of hinduism but they were evolved as a stepping stone to reach higher levels of consciousness. but basically hinduism does not put itself above other religions and its ancient texts point towards the concept that like jesus we can all achieve a state of god. if one is intersted in the deeper philosophies of hinduism one should read or look at the upanishads.

This is correct and it is true that under Islam families work much better these days. Have you seen all those babies they pop out? However, Orthodox Catholics from Latin countries also have strong family units and so do Orthodox Jews. The more religion you have in your family the happier you will be.
Unfortunately Islam is a lie. Supposedly the Prophet Muhammad got his info from the angel Gabriel who got it directly from God. One problem: there are historical inaccuracies in the Qur'an (such as Mary the mother of Jesus being confused with the wife a biblical figure Aaron who lived 1000 years before Jesus). If the message of the Qur'an came from God he was drunk or stoned at the time.
Christianity has a problem in that Jesus did not fulfill all of the prophecies the Messiah was supposed to fulfill. If he is the Messiah then he will be back to rebuild another temple in Jerusalem because that is one thing clearly defined for the Messiah to do - rebuild the temple. Since the temple in Jerusalem was not even destroyed yet he made his appearance too easy to be the Messiah.
