The average heterosexual male views homosexuality in practice as distasteful and repulsive. Even hetero males who SUPPORT gays dont actually want to SEE gay sexual acts, and would cringe and look away if shown them. Hence you often here people saying things such as "i dont care if people are gay, i just dont want to SEE it" because it disgusts them.
I think most gay people who get attacked etc are the ones that feel they ahve to scream about their sexuality from the rooftops, and dress like a fairy. I think this is uneccessary and needlessly provokes the average hetero male.
Also gays WERE orginally the highest risk group where AIDS was concerned, and the tar from this brush has stuck. Thus people associate Gays with disease and uncleanliness. Not a good image to give off.
Another thing is that gays dont ACT like they have a disease, in fact many do the oppostie as i mentioned earlier and feel the need to flaunt their sexuality in public i.e "GAY PRIDE". Thus they do not receive the sympathy of other mental illnesses.
There isnt a straight person out there that can say they "chose" to be straight. I know I didnt, I just love tits! And since they know this, I dont know why they cant see that gays didn't chose, they just are.
And on the AIDS topics, any person that shows up to a dead person's funeral to protest gays should be thrown in that same hole and buried alive, its one thing if you dont like where he sticks his pecker, its another if you actually take the time out of your day to protest Gays when you could actually be doing something good for someone else rather then fueling your own misguided hatred.
Gaybashers are the worst kind of bigots, especially when they use the Bible as their reasoning.

johan_moritz- I didn't say you should feel sorry for them just that you treat them with the same dignity you show a person with Downs Syndrome.
Homosexuality used to be considered a mental illness by the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) but was removed from the list long ago. As mentioned earlier, I don't believe anybody chooses to be gay. As for the gay-bashers, most of them are closet-homo's who have repressed their homosexual urges to prevent moral anxiety.

Because as a nation we follow the Judaic Christian concept of law enformcement. No one wants to admit it but everyone has at one time in their life began masturbating either alone or with others and age was not a factor. Those caught were traumatized by their 'priests, parents, teachers, or older people not in their age group. Also, bordom and a lack of interest in reading technical mateial(chemistry books,algebra books,geometry etc.) They tend to be visualists and bi polar. Too acidic and to base blood can be just as bad. When I was a child I knew kids my age who would come on to me and try to feel me up and undress me and lick my feet etc. When a parent or concerned adult who has been taught the 'lessons of God Almighty" the problems start. Adults with this problem simply haven't had their questions answered. No one is brave enough to answer them. Sex education is a joke, it's just another science read. D'uh!!!
It's caused by the enviroment. People who are sexually agressive don't do much reading, aren't responsive to one on one instruction get bored easily and their attention span is very short.
They live for one thing once they've experienced it, that's the sensation of orgasm. Age makes no difference. If two pre teens do it in private and don't 'snitch' on each other, no one knows the difference. On the other hand if and adult parent, coach, or teacher catches them someone influenced by 'God' or 'Jesus' or 'Allah'..then all hell breaks loose. These people who are called pedophiles are people who haven't had their questions answered.
