I would much rather make the most of the life I have, create and fulfill my own purpose and die to find out that there is a god. If the god is omnibenevolent, he would forgive me and accept me. If the god is omnipotent or has any kind of plan, I would think there would be a reason it kept me from knowing it, such as perhaps to teach others religious tolerance. If the god is an a-hole, I'd be glad I denied it. The thought of living my life for the fantasy of something greater and then die never knowing, because you cannot die and find out there *isn't* a god is tragically depressing.
woops, repent my sins on my deathbed just in case

If the manner in which I live my life changes depending upon the existence of a God, what does that say about my "morality?"
I'll act as I do because I believe it is right, not out of promise of reward or fear of punishment.
Live my life knowing human concepts of god are all wrong.
Pascal's Wager--boring
"As if?" What 'God' are you talking about?
I enjoy living my life praising God.
Oh, i'm sorry I_Always_Lie i forgot to mention which God. You know that one up above who created the universe and everything in it. Sorry i confused you!!!!
It doesn't matter whether I live as if there were a God or as if there weren't a God because I would live the same way in both cases. In other words, even if I knew there were a God, I would ignore him.
zorra, wouldn't you rather live for a God that loves you and wants to spend eternity with you?
I don't want to spend eternity with God.
Also, I don't believe that God loves anyone or wants to spend eternity with me anyway. I would rather live my life for myself. Don't you think it's a bit undignified to worship a God, whether or not He exists?
zorra, i enjoy worshiping God. i know that He loves me and wants to give me eternal happiness. He deserves my praise and worship.
Well, if you enjoy it, then go for it.
Another thing I would like to add: How are you going to live your life as if there were a God? Every religion has a different take on the nature of a higher power and an at least slightly different set of rules. Do you follow all of them to be safe? How do you know which one is correct? If you decide to go your own way instead, how can you presume to know the will of God? How do you know that God cares what you do or that he even agrees with human morality? If safety is what you're looking for, it's still all a gamble, just as risky as living your own life as if there were no God.
Zorra, like you say almost every nation in the world has some kind of god they worship, if there weren't a god then why would there be some many varitations of one, if people had no need to worship something?
