I had a friend that had a pet peeve of people using the plural of s ending words with an ‘i’ in non conventional words like penises as penii. In some places it can make you look like an even bigger idiot than if you had just used what you thought was improper grammer.

No. Neither. The actress Gena Davis is a member (as an FYI :). It is an organization for people who excel in a given area, whose level of knowledge, achievement and skill in that area(s) is statistically an anomoly on a scale of averages.
