WHEN WILL WE GET ALL THESE FINANCIALLY IRRESPONSIBLE REPUBLICANS OUT OF OFFICE AND REPLACE THEM WITH FRUGAL DEMOCRATS?

Yes there are many myths that have kept otherwise intelligent people voting for republicans over the last 25 years but the biggest has to be the myth of the fiscal conservative. Since the date of my birth there have been 3 republican presidents and 1 democrat. The first 2 Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush sent America into a downward spiral of record breaking debt all along denying any responsibility for the recession then one Democrat is elected, Bill Clinton, and gives America it’s biggest surplus in history, but the following term a republican president backed by a republican led house has sent America into the biggest debt in our history. All thanks to the republicans loving relationship with the war industry. Yes if you want debt and financial ruin then vote republican but if we ever want to see an end to this debt then we’re going to have to elect a fiscally responsible democrat to office. What do you think? When will we get all these financially irresponsible Republicans out of office and replace them with frugal Democrats?

Well, you act as if america is a socialist nation. The government has little to do with the economy when compared to most other nations.

Still, Cletus, you can't duck the numbers.
by Truthseeker013 on Fri Apr 29, 05 2:50pm [+]

Cletus, Bush has borrowed us into a 7.3 trillion dollar deficit. Last time I looked, Bush had something to do with the government. Do you know what the interest is on 7.3 trillion. Do you realize if interest rate hits late 1970's levels that we will not be able to generate enough tax revenue to pay off the interest earned on the debt?
Regardless of the nation, regardless of the type of government, government is part of the economy. You sound as though you believe governmet to be an abstraction.

it will end when democrats vote in numbers to replace the republican majority in the goverment. I think I read that there are more democrats in USA than republicans, once they all use their voting power, the situation will change

You have to love the irony, although I have to admit that I doubt that governments have much to do with the ups and downs of the economy.
It is, however, somehow just that they get the blame because they certainly take the credit if the economy does well.

Thanks for your ballot.

I hope soon! Bush has us on a path of financial suicide. How much more can he spend that we really don't have? That being said..the Congress keeps allowing it. This is not a Republican or Democrat issue...it is that our government as a whole needs to be more fiscally responsible. I thin anyone on here old enough to vote should call their Representatives or write to them to demand fiscal responsibility. I've written a few letters, but only ever got a response from Hillary Clinton...that letter addressed my points one-by-one and even though she knew I was not yet old enough to vote, her letter was extremely focused and made a lot of sense. I like her and when I can vote, she's getting my vote! (oh boy, I bet I'm going to get brow beat for that one!)
