Two famous sayings come to mind on this subject. 1) Dope is for dopes. 2) Dada is death.
what is dada?
I would tell you to avoid the man-made chemicals like meth because there are serious health consequences from taking those types of drugs. But pot/hash/oil is a relatively harmless drug that won't do any serious harm, It's fun, it relaxes you, it enhances enjoyment in anything you do, or it can make you paranoid, you can get mild panic attacks, then after a while you develop a vicious appetite "the munchies", so I highly recommend pizza, hamburgers, chocolate, dinner etc. and as long as you're with friends and you can see what you're smoking you should be ok. Cocaine is a little different, it's more of a party pig drug, you don't really get "high" per se, but you do become more "on edge", more talkative, less inhibited, but the downsides are you will want more of it in a very short time so it turns you into a bit of a pig. The worst side-effect is coming down. You can feel very anxious to severely depressed and it's not enjoyable. That's why many people will take a tranquilizer or two after their done, just to ease the coming down part of it. Just stick with the ganga and you'll be fine my bredren.
Smoked weed a few times. Didn't get really get anything out of it. Vicodin doesn't do shit for me either. I like beer.
Nope and proud of it!
Me neiter ceejj, but did you ever feel tempted?
Nope. I plead the 5th...again..
No, i am drug free and have no respect for people who are not.
But have you tried them d_wright? I'm drug free too...but want to know if you ever tried them or thought about it.
weed a few times, its a little overated in my opinion, it just drains your energy & makes you paranoid
um_yeah, what is crystal meth?
The only reason to try meth is if you don't care about your Life at all, and in that case jump off a bridge, but just please do not go near crystal or heroin.

It's crystalized speed. It's very addictive and very bad for your heart. I wouldn't do it, ever.
I tried weed once or twice and it didnt do anything apart from give me a bad taste in my throat. The reason i have no respect for people who do drugs is that those people should know the dangers and what it does to your body, your health and your wealth. I once read about a guy who won £100,000 on a scratch card and blew the lot on cocaine parties. He ended up on the street with health problems with no home to go to, no job and his wife had left him.
^Fucking mug.
Not today, not yet--I'm still in the office. Give me at least another 15 minutes or so.
so meth is a really bad one. heroin is everywhere now. I can't say I'd know what it looks like, but I know of some kids who smoke it...or do they snort it? not sure, but I'm sure they don't inject it like you see in the movies. They seem okay.
Yes I have. However, I would not recommend you start. I have tried pot and a few psychedlic drugs. Pot is relatively benign like alcohol if used properly. But if you are wise, I would leave it at that. Never tried speed or cocaine or anything else for that matter--seemed too damned dangerous, and that class of drugs lives up to the description. Stay away from the psychedelic drugs unless you are absolutely certain of your psychological stability. Unfortunately when it comes to these drugs, no one really is. This is to be completely honest.
Smoked pot for 4 years. Good stuff but hard to quit like smoking cigs. Makes you relaxed and and giggly. Done speed 10 times or so. Extremely addicting but a line can suffice all night until next month. Makes you feel sooo good inside and you can talk to anyone and everyone without a dull moment. It's very bad for your toofs so watch out. Speed basically makes you feel good while taking all the things your body needs away from you ie sleep, food and calcium ext. Done shrooms 5 times. Makes you halucinate mildly. Your buds won't turn into dragons but you'll picture crazy things in your head. Makes you very happy and you couldn't talk to a cop without laughing if your life depended on it. It's been about 5 years since I've done any of these drugs so I'm sure they've been updated.
Just be careful is what I'm trying to say.
Thanks THX, I will. I doubt I'll start some experimental stage, but since a lot of people I'm friends with have used or are using or want to try things like pot and cocaine, I wanted to see what other people, especially older, have experienced. In all honesty, if I've resisted the temptation this long, I'm sure I'm not missing much. But if things don't improve in this world, I may try all of the above drugs in one shot :)
No i have never used drugs nor do i plan on it.
Patch, honestly, I was never tempted. I see what it does to those who take it and that isn't something that looks like fun to me. I know you are smart enough to stay away from it, I just hope you are strong enough not to get mixed up with that stuff. Ok, I'll stop preaching now :-D
I smoked marijuana for a short period, early on in college. After awhile, I found it to be an amazingly adolescent experience and rather inane. And boring! Being sober was actually more interesting. From that experience, I still can't believe that marijuana is illegal. Chocolate is more addictive. Stay away from Meth, however. In my rural red state, Meth is a damn scourge. We've got rednecks running all over the place, jacked up on Meth, committing violent crimes and stealing everything in sight. That is one evil drug and, apparently, is nearly impossible to get off.
We don't, however, get many of those holier-than-thou lectures from the hucks about all those inner city drug addicts anymore.
You and I are of like mind on this one Cranky. The more thought I give it, the more I realize that the guys I know that have tried drugs, only did so because they probably thought that is what they were supposed to do. I also really don't have anything to escape from, as my life is so far is pretty good and aside from being hyper and occasionally feeling a little blue, I'm pretty happy. I just wanted to know if just thinking about it was normal. I could totally ask my brothers and sisters, but that would lead to a whoe other set of complications becuase they are way too overly protective. Thanks!
^Please note that the previous comment was just about my personal experience with cocaine. I have a lot more to offer on the topic of recreational drugs.
Actually, the funniest thing I've heard about drugs is: "Reality is for people who can't handle drugs." Not endorsing the view, just sharing it. Interesting ballot. Thanks.
wow, Applerod, that's intense and really scary! Now I am worried about some of my friends are starting to experiment. In all honesty, I was just curious if it was normal to wonder about it. I guess that knowing guys I used play vidoe games with just a year ago, are now trying heavy stuff, makes me a little scared that its time I grew up too. Its only a few friends who I know well that have experimented and I thinks it pretty limited. I was going to say yes that night only becuase I figured if they were doing it, it might not be so bad and would only be that one time. Looking back, I am glad I said no, especially after hearing your experience. I think a few kids use heroin, or at least thats what someone told me, but never saw them do it, so it could just be bs. I think I'm pretty much over the whole "should I at least try it" way of thinking :)
Damn. Can't get anymore in depth than that.
Alcohol and cigarettes cause hundreds of thousands of deaths every year. Gambling and alcohol cause family break downs and destroy lives yet they are legal and the government make money from them. Alcohol in particular evokes aggressive and violent behaviour. Drugs in comparison cause relatively few deaths, yes I know less people use them but the statistics still show that in comparison alcohol and cigarettes are far more dangerous. I believe prohibition of drugs is useless. It makes them impossible to control and so criminals who only care about profits are making them in backyard laboratories. There is no quality control and so no one knows what they are really taking. It also makes it politically incorrect and difficult to educate people properly about them. Instead expensive scare campaigns are used which never really work. I would never recommend anyone use any substance including alcohol and cigarettes as I do not want to be responsible for anyone elses addiction or harm however you will notice that people who are staunchly anti drugs are usually the ones who have never used. I have used ecstasy many times over twenty years and really like it, I only use about once a year now. I have used LSD and magic mushies a few times but dont like them. I have used speed and cyrstal a few times but never liked them either and they shrink your dick temporarily LOL. Cocaine is so expensive in Australia that it makes it impossible to afford but I have had it a couple of times, it doesnt last long so you need to keep having it, I couldnt be bothered with it. Ive used marijuana uncountable times but not much any more as I find it too draining on my energy and brain numbing.I have always held down a job, I am healthy, I have relatively healthy relationships, I am honest and hardworking and have never ripped anyone off. I have some personal issues but who doesnt? What I am saying is that it is possilble to use but not abuse. I would never ever use heroin as I have seen very nice people turn into horrific monsters who would kill their own mothers for half a gram. I would never use GHB either as it has been causing a lot of problems down here in the nightclub scene. Its cheap, easy to get and manufacture so has spread across the club scene like an evil weed. Because good quality 'e' is hard to come by people will take whatever is available and G happens to be the one they are foolishly taking. Stay away from it. Its longer name is 'grievous bodily harm', why anyone would take a drug called that is beyond me but The archaic anti drug laws do nothing to help the problem. People are scared of the law so when their friends have overdoses or whatever they are reluctant to stick around to help, and people have died as a result. Its also known as some other names too but Im not sure what they are. I believe people can get addicted to anything. Its a behavioural problem not necessarily substance.EG- some people are alcoholics where as others can drink socially with no probs. Some people can even smoke ciggys socially. I never could so I gave up nine years ago. Your always going to be better off not taking anything. People who get addicted are usually experiencing issues and problems they cannot face so the drug is used to block the problems out. The problems never go away though and coming down off drugs makes it that much harder and so begins the vicious cycle of addiction. By the time you realise you have a problem its too late. This happens with every addiction though not just drugs, even sex addiction which is just as destructive. If you do decide to use drugs never be blase, never buy from the street and never from someone you dont know or trust. There will always be dangers but if you have to do it then you can minimise the risks. Dont cave to peer pressure either, if your friends try to pressure you and you do not want what they propose, walk away and find new friends as they arent real friends anyway. If you are depressed, sad angry etc, reach out to people and talk, they are waiting to help. Use sport, meditation, herbs music etc before you use drugs, they are much better and have no negative side effects. No doubt the anti drug campaigners are going to come down on me for my liberal views but nevertheless it is healthy and positive to talk about these things honestly no matter how politically incorrect. People will use them whether they are illegal or not, and young people especially are drawn to whatever they are told they should resist. There is a simple universal law that the authorities should heed that says 'resistance creates persistance'. Drugs have been used ritually in society for many thousands of years, demonising them and there use is not only useless but hypocritcal.
pot and Caffeine (but who hasn't drank anything with caffeine in it).
