Hmmmmm. I want to say Mark Twain (of eminent common sense, but who was occasionally wrong, imo.) but I'm picking Teddy R.... Just because.
I like Twain for it, but don't know. Many people turn conservative by 40 or so, but I think it is more the increasing fear of death that makes them want to keep things the same. For both the conservative and many older folks, the future is better in the past.
he actually said "if you are not a liberal by 21, you dont have a heart"
I should've known it was Mark Twain (smacks head in disgust).
