Yes, Or what is the point of the phrase 'repaid their debt to society'.
yep, I agree with steelhamster
I vote yes with a little codicil - I have reservations about those who did time for murder, rape or child molestation.

yeah, I do have a problem with child molesters having any rights, including the right to keep their penis
I think American Citizen who have commited crimes shouldn't be allowed to get into the whitehouse, but they do :o)
they are in some states, any felons can have one felony removed from their record every few years by a judge. i think in my state the first is 5 yrs, and then another every 3 yrs or so.
I'm against ex-wives being allowed to vote.
^Now I know the source of your bitterness. =:-)=
when i said my state, i meant TN. i'm in VA now, and they have a lifetime ban, only a pardon by the Governor here can restore rights.
Well, i'm definatly a yes on this one, seeing as I am an ex-felon, and I have had my right to vote restored. As far as molesters and rapists, I don't they should ever be allowed out in the first place. Ever.
I'd have to agree with mojo in that respect. the most violent offenders shouldn't enjoy those rights. They shouldn't enjoy freedom, for my money.
Yes: Voting gives a voice in Representation. Losing the right to be represented effectively makes one a non-member of the country -- what would be the incentive to remain law-abiding?
the ones still in prison, no!! but if you are out of jail/prison, and complete parole or probation,yes..
Yes. Apart from violent criminals and sexual/chold abusers. these people are never truly cured. Cant say I accept the death penalty. But on the whole the point of prison is to teach a lesson and as SH said whats the purpose of punishing them if they are to be punished after they have served their time. god knows most ex offenders have a hard time getting work.
Oh yes,How long do they have to pay for the crime that they commited.I don't think child molesters should have right to vote though
