COMMENTS:
I wouldn't say cowards, but I think it's extremely cruel & selfish if they know there will be people hurting. If a person has ANY kind of family, they have to realize how traumatic that could be for them.
But then again, I haven't had this happen in my family. I'm sure this is a pretty touchy subject.
My unscientific view of suicide is that, since survival is THE basic human instinct, people who are able to commit suicide or seriously attempt it obviously have some chemical imbalance going on. It goes completely against what we are wired to feel, therefore, somewhere in the brain, lines are crossed and to them, their thoughts and feelings make complete sense although the rest of us can see that clearly, things are off. I don't think the majority of them can help it. I'm not talking about the the person that threatens constantly to kill themselves for the attention, having no intention of every going through it. Unfortunately, the successful ones don't get a second chance to get the medical help they so desperately need. Just my opinion, of course.

IMO, it's not a cowardly act. BUT that doesn't mean I promote it.

I do not see them as cowards, but as desperate people that think their problems are just more than they can face. Suicide is a tragic, tragic event that is impossible for most of us to understand.
Because they gave up on the fight of life. courage is when things look there darkest you keep going and striving to keep going suicide is the easy way out. once you have decided to kill yourself you have taken the easy way out. it takes courage to live when it would be easier to die
here is the meaning of Coward:• noun a person contemptibly lacking in courage.
