But it's not ok, to being so polically correct, so fearful of looking like you are in any way associated with the current administration, you allow untrue comments go by, which makes them seem true.

I know the faults of our country, I know many policies have caused many hardships , but I also know, everything about it is not wrong.

As I know, the same applies to other nations.

I think it's wrong for Americans to automatically take the others side and even dismissing an American who might add some balance to the debate, because it might sound arrogant.

I've noticed this is happening on this site all the time, I'm guilty of doing that myself, but it's not really fair.

For example only: A Brit says , americans are ignorant, very few americans will say, come on how can you say that about 300 million people you never met"

But if the same is said about Brits, you will rush to their defence,

Which is what should be done , just too bad you don't have that same respect for citizens of your own country.

Sorry about this poorly worded ballot, I'm in a hurry.

ok, so to make this rambling into a ballot,

What is your opinion on this ?

I do that 2
I don't do that 0

I agree Larry. There is an element of users that don't want to be viewed as being pro-American anything. If they see that they prevailing comments are one way, they would rather just "go along," even if they don't agree. I guess its sort of like they are intimidated by the "liberal elite" in that if it is cool to be hostile toward Americans, they won't jump in and contradict those people. It's sort of convuluted and hard to put into words, but I guess the best way to sum it up is that some users seem to want to portray themselves as the global, all-knowing and enlightened elite, so even if they disagree, they will still go along, just to fit in. Not sure if what I wrote makes any sense, but hope so :)

it did patch, like you said, it's hard to put into words, but it's apparent it is happening
