Bother ... typo in the subject line. :-/
THis is like what MP's did, they wouldn't give teachers a pay raise, even though the teachers claimed that a pay raise would attract more teachers, but gave one to themselves, citing the same line of reasoning.

But, those people in congress need the money so much more than the people earning the minimum wage!
And those dicks get free, universal health coverage, too. Funny, how what is bad for America is good for Congress.
Lets run for office... Seems like a good gravy train to be on.
"Losing purchasing power." An interesting way to put it. Mister DeLay ought to become an English professor when he's mercifully voted out of Congress. Never before have I seen such a facility for interpretational linguistics.
As the great Ted Kennedy would say,I don't think stupid middle class realizes what a case of Chivas Regal premium blended old Scotch Whisky cost, low life beer drinkers that they all are
Ted Kennedy has been a strong supporter of an increase in the minimum wage. The same can't be said for Republicans in Congress.
They should get enough money to get by on, no more. This is most definately a double standard. Not that we should raise minimun wage, but they shouldn't get a raise either.
maybe they need to cut back on their purchasing! (like the rest of us)
