I'm sure it did, but not playing the victim mind you, we were never that well loved in the first place.

Without a doubt. Plus I think, personally, it inspired people who already hated the US to be more active about it.
by malckdaddy on Thu Jun 30, 05 11:57pm [+]

I can`t think of a single instance where it may have eliminated enemies. Even in Britain America is considered to be making the wrong choice and we`re your allies.

Kuwait perhaps, but i doubt it.

Maybe, but it has brought them into focus. Brought them together. I don't know if that is good or bad. Hopefully they will stay occupied in Iraq and Afghanistan. I know that is incredibly cavalier and callous, but well...you know

Our enemies hate us more and our allies like us less.
by cranky on Fri Jul 01, 05 9:38am [+]

I see the America haters are up early today;no ofcourse the Iraq war did not create more enemies for the U.S.Infact the war has help create new allies for America.

What enemies has it eliminated? The insurgency is thriving both in Iraq and Afghanistan. Rumsfeld said the war could go on another 12 years....Looks like the Bush administration has created many more enemies than it ever had.
by Nico_b on Fri Jul 01, 05 5:49pm [+]

Does anyone actually care anymore?!
by xxxxxxxx on Fri Jul 01, 05 7:52pm [+]

In my opinion we may have created a few new America haters but that concerns me very little. What does concern me is the PC war Bush is waging. Almost everday I ask myself, Why is the Sunni triangle still in existence?, and We have an amazing Air Force so why aren't we using it? I hope one day to hear President Bush has grown a set of balls and ordered the complete and utter destruction of Fallujah to the point it is no longer inhabitable. Win the war first Bush, you pussy, then you can worry about winning hearts and minds. We must gain peace through force and fear.
by lowerclassbrats on Fri Jul 01, 05 7:55pm [+]

^ You can't possibly believe that that would be in the best interest of the United States.

And creating new waves of enemies has more to do with than just tarnishing America's reputation around the world. Even if you don't care about America's "image", you have to understand that the extreme end of these new enemies represent a huge contingent of people who can and will give anything they have to contribute to the destruction of the United States. That's really counterproductive to the whole goal of safeguarding the United States against future terrorist attacks.

Lets bring this down to its simplest level. Remember when you were at school. Remember the rich kid with all the toys? The one who thought he could abuse people because he had friends? Remember how eventually he alienated everyone and although he still had his toys and money he was alone. Hated by all and impotent. Now take that analogy and apply it to the current situation. How can making the world hate you make you feel more secure? Simple it cant.

Can someone tell me what planet corrupt is on?
by xxxxxxxx on Fri Jul 01, 05 9:33pm [+]

Mobie666:
I on this planet and unlike you liberals I see the war for what it is.The Iraq insurgency is not the like the insurgencies in Vietnam,Alegres or any where else. The fact of the matter is that average Iraqi in the streets does not support the insurgency.Without support from the local population the insurgency is destined to fail.It might take 10 years it might take 20 but the insurgency will eventually perish and Iraq and America will be stronger and safer because of this war.
by Corrupt on Sat Jul 02, 05 12:15pm [+]

I`m not a liberal. You see the war for what you want it to be. Whats the difference between these insurgencies??

You speak for the avarage iraqi now do you? I doubt it. you speak of the propaganda on your tv that wants you to beleive this. The local population are more against america now than when this shambles of a war started. you have killed their wives and children in your indiscriminate bombings. The rest... well you stay in denial but i know how people feel about america and trust me your country will never be safe. The insurgents (freedom fighters) dont need public support. they ARE the public. this isnt some random faction. this is like the ira in ireland. people wont piblicly admit supporting them. but support them they do. This is a wake up call corrupt ignore it at your own risk.

LCB I cannot accept what you are saying at all. Killing tens of thousands of civilians is not balls its cowardice. How can you so casually condone mass murder? Please do not bring 9/11 into this because that had nothing to do with iraq. and besides nearly 25,000 civilians are already dead thanks to this "war". Its not a war at all. But they sure convinced you it is. Wars are won by force and beating the enemy. You dont have a clear enemy. This wjole situation is put to you like a war. but it isnt. its an illegal immoral occupation. the deaths of 25,000 civilians makes you the worse of two evils. I know you wont accept this but at least consider how it looks to the rest of the world man. Your fear is being used to make you blind. snap out of it before its too late.
by xxxxxxxx on Sun Jul 03, 05 5:09am [+]

You know the system is there to grind you down. Why cant you accept its lying to you about this? I really do find this double standard difficult to understand.
by xxxxxxxx on Sun Jul 03, 05 5:11am [+]

mobie666:
Stop listening to Air America radio and start reading the newspapers:even the liberal rags acknowledge that the average Iraqi hates the insurgency. You see the insurgency is made up of three elements. The Jihadist from foreign countries,ex-Baathist and Sunni extremist. The average hates the foreigners because they invaded his country, despies the Baathist because they oppressed him and loathes the Sunnis because they are from a different clan.Face it mobie666 the insurgency is going to fail,no matter how much support and love you give to them you america hater.
by Corrupt on Mon Jul 04, 05 12:36pm [+]

youve lost corrupt. the moment you called me an american hater. I dont care what the liberal papers say. they are still american. they wouldnt sell many papers otherwise. im sure the iraqi`s are ecstatic that youve killed 25000 civilians. you need to stop accepting the propaganda. Especially the one that tells you anyone who disagree`s with you is an american hater. while it may make you feel like youve made a valid poin in reality all youve done is show just jow conditioned you are. I dont support the insurgency (again because i disagree you label me) The sunni`s have as much right to live in iraq as anyone else. There is not much evidence to suggest foreign involvement. reason being that the kurdish regions havent been touched. if you were foreign you would not know the difference. the main core are baathists and if the coalition had done its job properly this could have been avoided. As it is the area of Ramadi which is a baathist strong hold. not a single bullet was fired. the coalition allowed them to simply melt into the background until a time came that suited them. if your going to debate at least get some of your facts right. and dont go labelling me or ill just ignore you for being a fool.

mobie666:
I haven't labeled you,you have labeled yourself. The moment you call the insurgent's "freedom fighter" you exposed your inner feelings towards America. If the insurgents are "freedom fighters" then I guest that makes the us the oppressors.
