Well Bahrain is about to take Jacko off our hands!
Herlzog, Just how many of these obsessive, racist, anti-Muslim ballots do you plan on putting up? Ever heard of the word "redundant?" We know that Muslims have replaced blacks in your racist queue of pathological hatreds. We get the point: you hate Muslims. Not enough to join the military and fight them in Iraq. But you hate them a lot. I think everyone gets the point.
I can't answer this question. I am still stuck in trying to understand what my country contributed to the world in the past 1000 years.
Just answer the question, cranky. It is a fair question just like the one about the worst attributes of American culture.
There is certainly a number of things in the last 1000 years and in the 500. In case anyone forgot, the Suez Canal was built fairly recently.
Egypt also built the Aswan High Dam to reduce flooding from the Nile (although some may question the benefits).
Israel is a center of major technology development in many areas. This includes stuff like: Intel's centrino technology, cell phone and other items. Bahrain is developing an international banking center which will probably rival Singapore soon. Qatar is actively pursuing technology firms by establishing a technology center. However, reliance on oil revenues has hindered development in most other areas.
Bother, I had several dozen that were being presented *this year* but my post didn't take. With URLs, too. Ah well, do what I did and run a Google search with parameters: +"middle east" +inventions -peace -Bush -ancient and you will get about 58,900 hits!
Fiddle, I know that Israel is advanced, but I would say that most technological developments are probably going to come from the UAE in the next ten years
