I'm moving to Iowa City on Sunday and working on packing shit up. I picked up a tub full of random shit, and had to maneuver around a bed to get out of the bedroom while holding it (and the bed had a ton of shit on it, so setting the tub down wasn't an option), and so I was holding the tub awkwardly and strained my back somehow. It kinda hurts, though not right now since I'm sitting down. I also took a couple aspirin. What else should I do to help it heal better? (btw, I've moved most of the big stuff, so I'm good with that for now.) The first two options listed are common things I hear about. Please add any other advice. I've never hurt my back before.

Cold pack, even tho heat feels better 3

Listen to mojo! Do NOT use heat! The injury you suffered is a strain (of muscle or disk) and requires ICE. Heat feels better but will *really* exacerbate the problem.

1. Cold pack or ice pack

2. About three ibuprofen (better for muscle aches)

3. Rest (at a minimum, keep horizontal as much a spossible). Sitting is not resting, as it still puts pressure on the lumbar region.

Actually I'm feeling a lot better today. When I woke up I rolled over and felt a bit of a twinge I was worried, but my back's not really even sore now.
