What do you think of this list? Is it fair? Is it complete enough. Should the USA have a similar list?

Here is the complete article.

Acts of hate: full list of 'deportation' acts
By Times Online

The Home Office today published a list of "unacceptable behaviours" which will lead to the deportation or exclusion of any foreign national who commits them from the UK.

According to the Home Secretary the list is indicative rather than exhaustive and covers any non-UK citizen whether in the UK or abroad.

Terrorist violence
-Cannot foment, justify, glorify terrorist violence in furtherance of particular beliefs

Terrorist acts
-Cannot seek to provoke others to terrorist acts

Criminal acts
-Cannot foment other serious criminal activity or seek to provoke others to serious criminal acts

Inter-community violence
-Cannot foster hatred which might lead to inter-community violence in the UK.

Method
Individuals who do the above by any means or medium are caught by the legislation, including:

- writing, producing, publishing or distributing material;

- public speaking including preaching

- running a website

- using a position of responsibility such as teacher, community or youth leader

Sounds good to me 6

A bit late in coming, but a step in the right direction. Living in a western nation is not everyones god given right, it is a privledge that can be withdrawn if abused.

Nothing on it seems terribly unreasonable to me.

I am not convinced this is going to work. Its all very well the politicians coming up with this, but what will happen when the haters end up in court? An Islamic hate preacher has already been let off the hook by the CPS (Criminal Prosecution Service) right after Tony Blair said there will be no more time for hate spewers. It seems that the judges pull the strings instead of the government.

terrorist violence and acts perhaps, but writing and running a website?

what the hell is happening to the supposedly free world? if we can't even speak our opinion, are we any better than those who live under oppresive islamic regime???

I'm torn. There is the freedom of speech issue, but I just have a problem with non-residents or illegal aliens doing the things you mention without having the option of deportation. However, keeping them in prison in the country (not allowing outside contact) might be a better option.

Interesting to hear Herzog, the doyon of the right and American Freedom, is advocating a police state?

Kev is under the impression that I agree with the UK government and never criticise it, does he even bother to read any of my comments, or does he just fly into a rage and give people he doesnt agree with negative karma, given his youth, I can ubderstand that he has difficulties debating with grown ups, but that was just churlish.
