If they are tricks of the mind then you haven't had an Out of Body Experience. You must be hallucinating. I think you should get some serious medical attention.
Sorry but they are OBE's. I've read several books by people who have OBE's and they all had the same experience as me.It was shocking actually. You think your out of your body but your really not , your awake and asleep at the same time. I could write my own book on it.
I had it once shortly after my surgery... I think it was just a mind trick caused by the anesthesia. I had lots of weird dreams after my surgery. Whatever image is implanted in your mind when you fall asleep is usually what you see during an OOBE. Then something weird and often freaky happens, such as a dark, shadowy figure jumping out and shaking you... at least that's what happened to me.

Skykisser, describe what your experiences were. Perhaps your definition of "spiritual" is more demanding than how other people would define it?
I had my appendix out recently and didnt experience anything during it :( Although after i felt stoned due to the drugs which was cool but thats not the point. No, i haven't had an out of body experience.....maybe i have no soul :-S HELP!
I'm not religious, but i have an open mind. You never know, what if something DOES happen. thats the thing about life as people, in life there are so many questions, so few answers. It's a shame. What do you lot think?

No bull. I have witnessed what the folks who experienced OOBE have claimed to see. I know it's a fact and does exist. It was no trick as my parents confirmed that I've been dead for 4 minutes in the hospital.
