My wife has that problem. We'll be driving along and I'll be giving directions and I'll say "turn right," and there will be this pause while she thinks about which is right and which is left. Most of the time that little quirk is kind of endearing. Except when we drive on by the turn because she hasn't yet made up her mind.
I cross up *all* directions the first time, myself. Once set out driving from Nashville in a car, ended up headed toward Memphis before I caught my goof.
