Also, let's discuss the other STUPID questions the media has brought up, such as, "Why do the victims seem to be predominantly poor blacks that we are seeing in New Orleans."
WHY?? Because they couldn't afford to leave the city, I mean, how stupid a question is that? Those who could afford to leave left. It's like a question that answers itself, DUH!!
Another stupid comment: "Where is the military to help these poor people!!??" The military isn't some magical machine that you PUSH the button and they magically show up. I understand that there were people too poor to get out of the city, but even so, they were given the warning about what was going to happen in the city, and they chose to stay. Don't bitch at our military and act like it's such a 'failure' on their part that people who had warning didn't heed it. As I said, I understand they weren't able to get out, but even with that said, just as much as they didn't know how bad this would be, NO ONE knew, not the military, not FEMA, not our government.
ALso realize this, this may be the worst natural disaster in the history of our government, WHY? Because New Orlean's beauracrats, including that stupid Mayor of theirs, didn't do more to strengthen levees that they had been TOLD by the Army Engineers were not going to be strong enough to hold up to a storm like this.
I wish people would quit blaming others for what happened, realize how monstrous the proportions of this disaster were, and give all the money that is going to be WASTED on hearings about the 'slow response' to the victims of the diaster, because God knows we are going to see probably 15 million or more spent on stupid hearings that will just end up telling us this:
Yes, there were ways the government could have responded quicker, but given the scope of the disaster, no one could have forseen or planned for such an outcome after the hurricane.
Actually, herzo, refugees are being brought to my city, and I plan to offer assistance at this end.

when Bush gained power he was told that the three greatest threats to mainland USA was a terrorist attack on N.Y.C, a Hurricane hitting New Orleons and an earthquake in San Fransisco. All I can say is that the citizens of the latter must be shitting themselves with this incompetent little shit in charge. Has anybody noticed how he smiles at the most inappropriate times. He stands there talking about 10,000 people dying in a major US city with a big grin on his face.
So the president of the entire US is to blame when soemthing goes wrong in new orleans, but the mayor of new orleans isn't? He let buses sit idle and be destroyed by rising waters, he started the evacuation too late, and tried to cram everyone into the dome without food, water, or order. And now we're finding out that the governer of LA refused to allow the government to get involved, in part of a petty democrats vs republicans power struggle.
On the other hand FEMA had over 7000 troops on the ground in affected areas in under 24 hours, despite a destruction of the transportation infrastructure and interfering local politicians. It took 9 days last time there was a hurricane, under clinton, and that was far smaller.
LOL. herzo just had to get a shot in at Clinton. And he's the only one I've heard giving high praise to FEMA in this debacle. I guess that's how it happened in his chickenhawk fantasy world.

IMO, what happened in New Orleans after the Hurricane has given the Black people of that city more of a reason to hate the Whites.
The people were not properly taken care of after the storm and since Fema and our Government is run mostly by whites, I can see how they could become so angry at those who were in charge.
So please explain why the whites would have more of a reason to hate the blacks after that storm? Why, because they started looting the stores? If the National Guard and FEMA would have been there immediately after the storm, there probably wouldn't have been as much crime as there was.
