If hostile aliens were introduced, that would reset the framework and, relatively speaking, the Enemies of Today would be the Allies of Tomorrow.
Why would the aliens necessarily kill everybody. It makes sense to just turn everone into servants and use the planet as their species' new tolet or something. In the movies the aliens are always out to kill all humans and blow up the planet, but it would make a great deal more sense to mine or use the planet and take the people as servants and workers.
