COMMENTS:
I didn't care if Saddam DID have WMDs. It never mattered to me -- I was against the war long before it began. The reason it matters, though, is because the government claimed that Saddam had actual WMDs, not just capabilities.
Saddam Hussein had WMD's. It is not a question. He moved them to Syria prior to the American invasion with the help of the Russian military establishment.
What country doesn't have the ability to make WMD?

Right. Just like Iraq had that fleet of Unmanned Air Vehicles ready to carry nuclear warheads to our cities. Said fleet consisting of ONE oversized plywood model airplane which managed to fly for a total of two miles before it crashed. Remember? That said, I'll admit that Saddam was so horrible that our government probably made a big mistake installing him in power in the first place, and propping him up decades after he would otherwise have been deposed. Not to mention our SELLING him those nasty old WMDs to begin with!
The ant-war crowd sees & believes what they want to, 5000 tons of uranium is pretty serious business.
5000? Slight exageration there. Two tons of yellow cake is more like it. At least according to fox news. Two tons that were known to the weapons inspectors and used for medical and industrial purposes. This was uranium that was previously secured by the weapons inspectors and was only "found" after it was looted from previously secure, monitored site, during the invasion. Tuwaitha I believe its name was. 5000, would be serious business, if you weren't lying.
...forgot to mention that this yellow cake had been under the IAEA's control for 12 years prior to the 2003 invasion.
Inter, what would be the purpose of moving the WMD out of the country? Iraq was on the brink of bieng invaded by hundreds of thousands of enemy troops. The guy wasn't a moron, he would have tried to keep hold of his country for as long as possible. That was the only thing that mattered. This would have either meant handing over the supposed chemical weapons he was alledged to have had, or using them on the enemy troops as they invaded. YOu really think that he would have got rid of his weapons arsenal over the border to Syria and then run directly for his little rat hole waiting to be found. What's the point? I'd appreciate a source to back up your claims if you've got one.
everygirl - So dont you think that's the case for the pro war crowd as well? What makes your facts more valid than an anti war campaigner?
^Good point! Doesn't everybody believe and see what they want to? Perhaps everygirl only sees and believes what other people tell her to see and believe.
The point of moving the weapons out of the country was to protect those countries that sent the weapons and their components. France, Russia, Germany, and Pakistan all sent them illicit and banned weapons. The book Treachery lays it out nicely. And further maybe you are just believing what you are told to think and believe. If it is possible with everygirl then it is as equally likely that you are saying and thinking the things you are. It is an ineffective argument at best.
I don't think Saddam would give a damn about protecting those people. What exactly would be the point? The guy was just about to loose his country. Protecting his own skin would be the priority. "It is an ineffective argument at best. " -That was exactly my point.
Iraq had no WMD production capability, even Bush admitted that. Yet people like you, fooled by the Bush regime before the war, keep lying. Shut up, USRocks.
