Uncertain.Extremists from both sides(example Al-Zarqawi) are trying to create hatred and fiery between the two sects by bombing a Shiite shrine or a Sunni mosque but hopefully Iraqi people will be better than giving in to those desires and working to build one nation as one people.

FYI, as to what prompted this ballot: It was just discovered that the Kurds have apparently signed an oil deal with Norway ... last year. They held a ceremony and began drilling. However, the official Iraqi central government had no idea this had happened, nor had they had the opportunity to weigh in.

"We need to figure out if this is allowed in the constitution," said an advisor to Prime Minister Ibrahim Jafari.

If the Kurds get away with making deals to sell oil on their own, they are well on their way to an independent Kurdistan.

And what does that portend for 'Iraq?'

In a worst case scenario, it's possible. But it doesn't have to happen. If the U.S. cuts-and-runs, the odds go up significantly.

I thought that the Shias and Kurds are pretty happy with the way things are going in Iraq. They are certainly getting everything they want. Of course, some might say that they are in a civil war right now. I don't agree with that assertion, but I think it is a reasonable position. The Sunni controlled areas will probably remain a trouble spot indefinitely unfortunately.

What is not generally known is that the Ba'ath Party was split between two countries: IRAQ and SYRIA.

Half of the Ba'ath Party had its head cut off.
The other half has no intention of giving up without a fight.
The current problem wot's screwing up the WHOLE thing,
is the country lying to the West of Iraq.

When THAT country gets the flush-out treatment, the whole thing will fall into place.

USA and France have already agreed that regime change is necessary in Syria.
And therein lies the problem.

CUT OFF THE OTHER HEAD.
