COMMENTS:
There is enough historical evidence to suggest that FDR was determined to draw the US into war by way of an oil embargo on Japan, and that he denied Hawaiian commanders at Pearl Harbor intelligence of the forthcoming attack.
Of course no-one would want to believe such a thing.
But of course no-one would want to believe such a thing.
Tried to remove duplicate comment, but there's something wrong with the connection today..
There are many conspiricy stories kicking around, however, this one, as zig says, has enough evidence to suggest it is fact not fiction.
It appears likely. If only this had been his only mistake, we might be a better country today.
Look at the events that spark a lot of American wars. Gotta get the public on side.
Well, it is known that the american secret services intercepted many messages from a japanese spy in Hawaii explicity informing his superiors on the whereabouts of the US carriers. It is also a bit strange that no one managed to locate the japanese fleet for days...Dunno if there was a conspiracy or the americans simply underestimated their opponents.
Come on, the Rockefellers pull that shit all the time. They don't even try to hide it anymore.
It was released last year that winston churchill had already known in advance too. but that he chose not to tell america. I think he might have tried but the american gov chose not to listen. Thereby giving them an excuse. Which of course leads directly to 9/11. If they could lie then how is now any different?
At the very minimum FDR knew two things by December 1 1941: that Japanese intelligence agents in Hawaii were showing intense interest in Pearl Harbor, and most of the Japanese Navy was headed toward Hawaii full steam. For Roosevelt not to know what was about to happen next he'd have to be stupid - and he anything but that. Roosevelt was tacitly delighted with the Pearl Harbor raid, just as Bush was with 9/11 and Clinton with the Oklahoma City bombing. And all for the same reason: for a politician, it was the perfect excuse for a power grab.
i think that they just never imagined the japanese would successfully pull it off
YOU ARE SO WRONG!! I went to pearl harbor it didnt happen that way. The Japanese made sure we wouldnt be drawn in to world war 2. They were mad at us because we caught of the exporting from the U.S.A. So they attacked us in return on "December 7,1941."
