He would have still been crucified. Since it is in fulfillment of the scriptures, Jesus would have demanded it. This is my view. He was not a coward. Think of how He would have felt if he saved his own skin and let us all go to Hell.

IMO, a little bit of a silly question. Jesus came to earth to die. Guns would have not changed a thing. he could have summoned 10,000 angels to his aid, but chose not to.

Peter cut the ear of the one of the Romans that took Jesus away. Jesus disapprove of Peter's violence action. He then restore the ear to the Roman and went anyways. He already knew he had to died, and accepted it.
