political : SHOULD THE US AND EU SUPPLY IRAN WITH ALL THE ENERGY IT DESIRES?

It'd be a twofold benefit:

1) It would eliminate Iran's need for nuclear capabilities (and if they still want it, then we absolutely know why and can act appropriately).

2) It would likely save the US money because we wouldn't have to spend so much on a nuclear weapons buildup (and inevitable extra funding toward Israel).

Your thoughts?

(NOTE: I did not look up this idea at all before typing it up, so it could be flawed, but the premise at least seems cool.)
