I'm not talking serious crimes like beating someone up because of their color or religion. I'm just talking stuff like off-color jokes and editorial cartoons. If people didn't take offense to them, would the concept of bigotry still exist? Or would it die out when people began to realize that they were for the most part jokes and not swipes at culture? Just a thought...

A swipe at a culture is a swipe at a culture even if people are too blind to realize it. I believe not taking bigorty seriously leads to eventual hate crimes.
