If you like Google Earth, chances are you'd also like NASA's 'WORLD WIND' application that allows you to browse the surfaces of the planets...Mars, Venus, Saturn, Jupiter,etc.
Check it out: there are also enhancing plug-ins and add-ons that add serious realism.
It's not a case of either/or.
You'll end up keeping them/using them both!
