sports : IF YOU WERE A PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL PLAYER IN THE 1980S OR 1990S, WOULD YOU HAVE TAKEN STEROIDS?

This is obviously a hypothetical situation.

About the only thing that would've kept me from juicing up is my fear of needles, and even then 1) steroids came in forms other than injection and 2) I think I could've pushed past my fear for the goal of athletic glory.

Now the risks of steroids were already well known in the 1980s and 90s, but look at the rewards! Being able to play in the bigs, hit monster homers, throw a ball 100 mph, steal 50 bases, etc. If I felt that the only thing keeping me away from big-league greatness was the use of steroids, I don't see myself turning them down. Something about the allure of a multi-million-dollar contract, the chance to win the World Series, and the adoration of millions of fans, would be too much for me to turn down.
