COMMENTS:
There are better cases than this one to base an impeachment off of. Presidents have been authorizing the monitoring of telephone conversations for decades. Taking that into consideration, the argument that they're just going after Bush because they don't like him could be dangerous. It's worked before.
What he did is a felony offense and he had no valid excuse for not following the law. The President is not above the law. It has also been revealed quite recently that this illegal tapping has also been including other forms of communication, including e-mail. Other people "did it too" does not make it legal. Look at Nixon. There is another Irony - Bush has demanded that heads roll and people go to jail for leaking this information about illegal wire taps. Yet he will hold no one accountable for the leaks in the Whitehouse regarding the Valerie Plame incident. So leaks are illegal unless they come from the President?
