About two thirds of that number came from Saudi Arabia alone. The complete list of Middle Eastern nations we imported oil from in 2005 is listed below with their contribution to US crude oil supplies by percentage: Egypt 0.08% Iraq 2.80% Israel 0.03% Kuwait 1.24% Oman 0.13% Qatar 0.02% Saudi Arabia 8.17% Syria 0.05% Turkey 0.11% United Arab Emirates 0.10% Yemen 0.07% TOTAL 12.80%
I guess that is why the US is putting so much pressure on Venezuela?
12.8 percent. However, oil is a GLOBAL market, and when the price of oil is raised in the middle east, it affects the entire world market.
I'm guessing on the order of 15%.
Do you know where we got the rest of it from?
^We produce a lot ourselves and then get some from Mexico, Venezuela and I think Canada.

But that is my point: the idea is not to steal oil from the Middle East, but to drive prices high enough that it prevents China from developing and the European Union from becoming any more united.
