COMMENTS:
Make that "invading Iran."
The iraqis hav been wanting us to leave for a very long time. Thats kinda why some people resort to suicide bombings
I wish the Iraqi Government does ask us to leave.
Of course. That's the plan, the "exit strategy" for the Bush Administration. And, it will occur before the mid-term elections.
When you think about it, it makes perfect sense. It takes the responsibility for extricating the U.S. from that failed adventure away from Bush, and frees up resources for a crusade against Iran.
There will be no crusade against Iran by America or the West. The potential for a nuclear war with either of Iran's biggest business partners, Russia and China, is too great. Why do you suppose that we went to war with Iraq, ostensibly for possessing WMDs, while we didn't even threaten military action against North Korea who not only possessed nuclear weapons but also the delivery systems to launch them on our allies? Too much risk. The Bush Administration is a bunch of bullies. So long as they feel like they will win, and suffer no consequences, they will posture, puff, kick the weak nation to death. When it comes to a tough nation with potential big backers, they don't have the grit to deal with it. Now, Israel might be a different matter altogether. No war with the Iran for the Bully Bush and his cowardly cronies.
That's been the biggest concern of the Administration throughout, that we wouldn't have that malleable government to control.
Griffon: Good points. My darkest fear, however, is that it's war now or war later. Although the result, nuclear terrorism, may be the same, either way.
Truth: The weird part about this whole Iraqi debacle is the unspoken assumption that the Iraqi government would always do whatever the Bush Gang wanted it to do. Very strange.
