Just a little evidence of evolution. And right there in our Mouth- the part a lot of people can't control :) Some people lately are born without them.

I used to have a gap between my front teeth. My wisdoms pushed them together. All hail wisdom teeth!

^^ Me too. Mine didn't start coming in until I was 35.
Back before (relatively) modern dentistry, people would lose a couple of molars by the time they reached the age at which wisdom teeth come out. Wisdom teeth are just a replacement for those lost teeth. I never had any in my lower jaw and the ones in the top aren't out yet. If they can fit or never come out, I don't plan to remove them. Freddy Mercury had teeth beyond the wisdom teeth, that's why he had a huge overbite.
i believe it has to do with evolution, in future centuries maybe people wont even get wisdom teeth at all, more and more people are being born today without ever getting wisdom teeth or having tonsils or apendixes so as our kind progresses over centuries we become more adapted to that of the environement around us, thus back in the caveman times many of the men and women didnt have that many teeth as we do today, and the ones they did have becamed decayed cuz they didnt have toothpaste back then so new teeth growing in around the 20's seems like a good reason why cause it would help them eat and grind their food. so over the years evolution has occured in some people not having them but yet some of us are behind lol
Voted : 32 teeth fit nicely into Nature's binary system
1>2>4>8>16>32 16 on top, 16 on bottom Wisdom of Nature is completed by the 4 Wisdom teeth If problem occurs, eliminate problem, dentist is there to eliminate problem... Bite and chew and swallow is second nature to all who eat...
