I'm just curious if that is how it works here. Reading the posts and remaining in the background, it sure seems that way. Seems sort of rude and paranoid to me.
yuppers
Oh Lord, I just got a gander at your page Splitting_Headache. Isnt't that the famous, or should I say infamous Opra Winfrey? Too funny.
LCD has done worse (ballot #96208), and yeah most are like that.
I thought You said that your sensitivity wasn't an issue. :o) No-one said they didn't like what you wrote, it was just a bit of friendly ribbing. There's a lot of aliases on here and most use them to stir the shit, thus saving their own user-name Karma rating. There's been that much of it over the years, a lot of people don't trust new users till they get to know them. Me included. It's normal round here, lol.
As I see, as I see. Lol!
just about any newbie get's jumped, I've noticed, that's not the way to encourage people to come back much or to say what they really think. It's good to see everything from a new point of view, from people with different backgrounds. It's a shame when reasonable people are pushed off.
You are learning quickly TomSmith. Be patient. The comments of yours I have seen are well thought out and good.
Absolutely normal and time-honored. Ad-hominem was invented many thousands of years ago. Attack the source and ignore the argument. This is like pro wrestling, Tom, you have to get into the game, learn the choreography of dirty debate. Sometimes, it will even be fun.
It is normal in the sense that some people naturally resemble others. Stick around and post in your natural fashion and you'll naturally carve out your own niche. I've thought some users were aliases of others before and was completely wrong. It's natural to do, though.
Or if you say you don't like the 'American Pie' series, you'll be called anti american by Jappy.
This site is not for the thin- skinned.
The neo-cons and other rightwingers, when they get especially irritated with me, start accusing me of having all kinds of aliases, which is dopey. Fiddle accused me of having multiple aliases just the other day. With all the insulting things I write, why would I need another alias? But it's true, some people seem to think that is some kind of super-insult: to accuse another poster of having aliases. And mocking people isn't specific to this site. It's just part of the fun.
^ I agree with him three.
The best thing to do is write something controversial, grab a beer, click refresh refresh refresh and enjoy the show. Just don't become a part of it or you'll have to leave the site and pay for cable.
Forgot about this one.
