No, not overrated, just bloody expensive.
Do they even come with turn signals? I never see them being used on one.
I don't know. But last night we parked next to a cute one, then when we were leaving it's people were with it, a tire had gone flat and they couldn't figure out how to get the spare out of the trunk, the instructions were all in German. My husband tried to help them for a while but then we gave up and left. They are safe though, with the roll-bars or whatever, I was in one when I wrecked with some transfer trucks and I'm still alive, maybe if I'd been in any other car then I wouldn't be here now laughing at y'all ;)

I've ridden in a few, and they are hard on the ass, IMO. But Germans wouldn't make soft seats, would they ;-)) You remember the old joke about porcupines vs BMWs. I won't repeat it here, lest we have a Beemer owner in our midst who's a nice person ;-))

My sister lusted for one most of her adult life. She finally bought one about four years ago, had it all of a month before it fell apart on her. Now, she won't even speak the name.
I get to drive a lot of luxury cars when I valet. BMWs are overrated. Mercedes are the nicest of the big luxury brands, followed by Lexus and then BMW. Cadillac's and Lincoln's are nice compared to my car, but utter crap compared to imports.
