COMMENTS:
Why do you think the Lebanese would confront Hezbollah, and risk a second (or fifth...) civil war, if they thought that the Hezbollah provocations will go unpunished? Furthermore, you heard the official position of the Lebanese government - they didn't know about the attack - so they're not baring the blame for it, meaning that they don't see themselves as responsible to stop attacks coming from their territories. Nations who harbour terrorists should understand that this is not the case. You should also remember that Lebanon's government consists of Hezbollah representitives, one would think that if stopping Hezbollah was the aim of the government, there wouldn't be members of Hezbollah in the government.

And what... keep waiting while the missiles rain down and more soldiers are kidnapped? Israel is doing the moderates in Lebanese society a favor by getting rid of Hezbollah. That is why many Lebanese while angry at Israel are equally or more angry at Hezbollah for bringing this on Lebanon. Probably also the same reason why even Saudi Arabia has criticized Hezbollah.
What Fiddle said do you really expect the Israelis to sit back while their people are being killed? No other nation, not even France would stand by while their people were being attacked.
Cancer is Cancer and there's only one way to remove Cancer. And it hurts. What you see on the news is that hurt. It's surgery time, baby! Go, Israel!
Lebanon would do nothing in that matter even if they had gotten more time because: 1. Hizbullah has alot of military power which threatens the new democratic country which is divided anyway by so many diffrent congregations like christians, muslims,Druse people etc... (in the new conflict against Israel there were even Lebanese soldiers who helped hizbullah militans in firing rockets and katyusha rockets on Israeli towns.
