and as an ex-catholic, with 5 generations of catholics in my family, I can say some people derive enormous comfort from the religion. As most older religions, you have people in it that exploit its members for financial gain and sexual exploitation, but you can't blame the true believers / members who worship god as they choose to, and you may not care for the pope, mohammad, buddah etc, but you don't have to go out of your way to assault the believers. Indeed. ...he is a fucking idiot. And of course humanity would be indeed foolish tolerate this. I sense that you're holding back on your true feelings keithsheen. You need to let it all out and tell us how you really feel. Personally I think all religions are cool but its some of the members that screw it up. I can take or leave the Pope and don't give him much thought I don't really care too much for the current Pope, but I really liked Pope John Paul II. I think he was a very good man. The current Pope has designer shoes made. He seems kind of materialistic.

Voted : Somewhere betwixt and between Whether what he said was right or wrong his timing was IDIOTIC. It wouldn't take a Genius to look over his speach before he made it and know that people would be killed for the words he, The Pope, said. The world's in a Holy War whether y'all are ready to face it or not. He pegged Islam right on the nose. Just look at how they responded. I still think the whole church is a puppet of Talmudic Judaism as a means to keep the goyim in check.

As another user here stated: The pope stated that too many who practice Islam are violent. How did Muslims respond? Hmm? Oh my, they responded VIOLENTLY. And you want to blame that on the Pope? Quit being a fool. It's one thing to avoid making inflammatory comments about one's race religion sex etc, it's an entirely different thing to be the religious leader for more than a billion people around the world, and spend the last 20 years watching another religion do all sorts of atrocities in the name of religion, and call upon them to stop what they are doing. Oh, and before you say it, YES, the Catholic religion has done some horrible things in the past, they have had problems with sexual deviants within the priesthood, but they are trying to make changes. You can NOT compare what is going on in the present day Catholic faith with the horrible atrocities that Muslims do in the name of Allah, there is NO way that is a valid comparison. Let me ask you this much, in fact, any of you that believe that there is no difference between what either church is doing. Do you really believe that Catholic priests who defile their position by molesting children do so with the belief that THEY ARE GOING TO HEAVEN? Do the others within their congregations CELEBRATE it when a little boy is molested? You really need to think about your ignorant and downright stupid comments. They do NOT make sense, they are improper, and I would like to believe you make these comments more to piss people off than any belief in them as fact. I do not believe that all Muslims are bad, it is a percentage of them who are radical in nature, however, Islam as a whole does very little to curb radicalism within its own faith, and that is where they go wrong! wow Japster, thanks for your attention. And my short comment up there was the only thing I've ever said here about this Pope/Muslims stuff. So again.. thank you. I am also ex catholic, my father is even now Catholic as is everyone on my father's side of the family. I grew up Catholic and went to a Catholic school. As I matured I had many problems, however, with many aspects of the Catholic religion and left the Catholic faith. I do not believe the Pope should be seen as any better than any common man, I do not believe that people should flock to him and kiss his feet, I do not believe he is any more able to talk to God than I am, among the many problems I have with the Catholic faith. Are you talking about throughout history? Or are you talking about currently. If you are talking about throughout history, I wouldn't have a problem with that, there have been many horrible things the Roman Catholic faith supported many years ago. But if you are talking about current day, you are totally and unequivocally WRONG! It is not a valid argument to support what Islam is doing during modern times by bringing up what other religions have done in the past. Your attitude is this, I believe, Keith: You believe the Pope has NO right to call other religions out given the history of the Catholic faith. I believe, though, that the Pope has EVERY right to do so, and I believe the history of the Catholic church puts him in the perfect position to call evil what is evil. He is not calling ALL Muslims evil, he is calling parts of the Muslim religion evil and inhuman, and he is right to do so. What I find quite funny is this... I haven't seen one valid argument against what the Pope said, all I have heard are people saying that the Catholic faith currently has atrocities just as bad, which I find to be really ridiculous. Let's look beyond the this completely baseless argument for a moment. If that were true, and it's not, how does that make what is being done in the name of Islam any less troubling, any less violent, how does that make it any more acceptable? Okay Jyl, when should the pope make his comments, if now is not the right time? What is the 'right time' to say the time has come to do something about these atrocities? How long should he wait to speak up about this? Or do you believe that the Pope should act like the majority of other Muslims, who, while they may be peaceful, they do nothing, they do not speak up, they, by their own silence, support by solidarity the actions done by the radical extremists in their own name. ... No, I do not think Anyone with so much religious power should "do nothing" Thanks again for all your attention. But his Organization is a cluster of Traditions, mere beliefs, which do not represent Reality at all! Nor do the other Jesus organizations, Or Moses organizations, Or Mohammed organizations, Or the others, deal with what is and was Actual or Real.. Today people want and need Reality, for that is what matters and is important, is useful, is essential.. Inspiration can come from the Universe, from Nature, from Life, and from each other..
