We have Muslims who are willing to join the United States military, to be committed to their faith, but also committed to this great nation.

For Muslim American servicemen it's a double challenge. While they're proud to serve, they recognize the irony in fighting for a country in which some people mistakenly associate them with the enemy.

No one in government has ever suggested that Islam is the enemy,it is radical Islam that we are fighting.

Not all muslims are the enemy. Those who engage in terrorism are, and the multitudes who quietly support them are our direct enemies. The majority who remains silent are neither our enemies nor our friends. And the extreme minority that speak out against such actions or even better, work with the US to combat such problems are most definitely our friends and allies.

How do you propose to find out which is which, herzog? If people who silently support terrorists are "your" direct enemies then surely "you" should do something about it. Or are you speaking on behalf of America? I seriously doubt you'll do anything because all you are is a person who types whacky stuff on an internet website like all the other people on here.

Someone is persisting on sabotaging this ballot to give the appearence that Americans Hate muslims in the US Armed Services. Please help me to offset this injudicious back stabber who won't reveal who they are or explain why they think muslins and Islam are our enemies. Because not all muslims are terrorists or extremists. This ballot is about abuse directed toward American servicemen not terrorists. Please, Come back daily to vote to stop this idiota from succeeding.

No way. It is not the religion. It is bad people who make up their own evil beliefs and then make up EXCUSES for them in Allah's name.

A good friend of mine is a Muslim woman from Afghanistan. She is caring and considerate--her husband is, too. She loves to talk about Allah and her country, and I enjoy listening. I told her I would even like to see what one of her religious services is like. We have several Islamic people working with us and they are good and conscientous workers. I remember on 9/12/2001, the day after, one lovely lady who hails from Iraq came into work so frightened she could not even look at anyone. This made me feel awful. So I took special care to say hello and ask her how she was doing every day until she seemed more secure. She's fine and dandy today.

There is a difference between Muslims and Islam.
Although I would never attack an individual simply because they're Muslim, I do question why so many of the moderate muslims decide to stay silent when so many atrocities are being carried out by extremeists in the name of their religion. You think they'd want to stop them from ruining the name of their religion.
This ballot is addressing only those muslims serving in the US armed services. They fight along side other Us servicepeople and work with non combatant foreign civilians to translate and interrogate. They are serving US with honors.
Sad that such arrogance exists in our American society. I guess I give my fellow Americans far to much credit as Intelligent.
