I was just thinking back on the golden age of the show, particularly the skit that Ackroyd did with Jane Curtain, sort of a "point/Counterpoint" deal, in which Jane would, based on a selected issue, provisde a calm, reasoned, logical stance. Ackroyd would, in counter, begin, "Jane, you ignorant slut..." Not PC, I know, but funny as hell.

Seen reruns of that show, I think she was so funny, I also like that counterpoint with Jane Curtain and Dan Ackroyd
The point-counterpoint was a spoof of a 60 minutes failure, but the Saturday Night version was funny - Bill, you pompous ass. Jane, you ignorant slut.

Hard to choose between members of the '75 to '80 cast, but I'll go with Ackroyd (Point/Counterpoint, the swinging Czech brothers with Steve Martin, Bassomatic). Belushi, Murray, Radner and Curtain were all great. Garret Morris was great when he got a chance to be ("OUR TOP STORY TONIGHT: GENERALISSIMO FRANCISCO FRANCO IS STILL DEAD!"). Since 1980 I'd say Dana Carvey with his Church Lady bit and dead on impressions of Bush the 1st and Ross Perot.
Oh, Gilda Radner was terrific too, "A Mr. Richard Feder from Fort Lee, New Jersey writes in and says: "Dear Roseanne Roseannadanna, Last Thursday, I quit smokin’. Now, I’m depressed, I gained weight, my face broke out, I’m nauseous, I’m constipated, my feet are swelled, my gums are bleedin’, my sinuses are clogged, I got heartburn, I’m cranky and I have gas. … What should I do?" … Mr. Feder, you sound like a real attractive guy! … You belong in New Jersey!".
Voted : Dan Ackroyd
All of the others a close second, though.
Come on People, lets get more votes on this poll. I'd like to see at least 1000 votes. Thanks!! You people are the BEST!!!
Dana Carvey - - - The Church Lady - Bush "wouldn't be prudent"
Mike Myers's movies has probably made more money than the rest of the members combined.
Chevy Chase is to comedy what Britney Spears is... to comedy.
Voted : Bill Hader
Only SNL cast member to actually work with both James Remar and Britt Irvin, but that's not why...that's just some trivia...I just love his versatility...
