That sounds nasty!
Apparently, some ppl eat it.
Speaking of Placentas. I saw an episode of Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern recently. The episode focused on organically grown foods.

At the farm it was shown how nothing goes to waste. A Cow had just given birth to a calf, and then the placenta came out.

The farmer explained how there and are many recipes for preparing and eating placentas, or they could be eaten raw.

So he cut off two pieces of the still warm raw placenta and ate one and gave the other to Zimmern who ate his.

Great Family viewing!

There must be plenty of people who eat their own placenta. I was at the grocery store and saw Placenta Helper on the shelves.

My daughter did. She lives in the Bay area, what can I say.

Yes, I met someone who claimed to have done so... Said it was healthier for the breast milk the first few days... puts the nutrients back into the baby? But, I don't know if I believe it. BTW--if you ever talk to an old user named Johann_Moritz? Ask him what the word spelled placenta means in Romanian. LOL

No, but I once met an elderly lady who said she gave birth in a bathtub. Her husband described it as being "like the tide at Omaha beach."
